Soundtrack for a Dream
Been downloading music again, and I've come across some really great stuff. One great album in particular is The Tokyo Tea Suite by AbJo, a DJ from San Diego, CA (yeah sociologique I see you gerl XD). The title may or may not refer to my favourite drink ever, but the album seems to be a concept album based around a trip to Tokyo. And true to the hodgepodge of the drink, this album is a mix of sick beats, seamlessly blending hip-hop, electronica, and a bit of jazz.
So I thought I'd make my own Tokyo soundtrack, for the day that I get there... if I ever get there. No, when I get there. Similar to AbJo's "Tokyo Tea Suite," I tried to envision a day in Tokyo through music. I skewed towards hip-hop, electronica, and a bit of Shibuya-kei; this functions as both soundtrack and sound painting of my dream vacation to Tokyo. Not only can you bump this on your player, but you can read each song as part of my story (through sound, if not always words - there are several songs for which I haven't got the full English translations). I originally wanted it to be one day in Tokyo, but it's probably humanly impossible to do all this shit in one day, so we'll say several days. But the soundtrack is in chronological order and spans about a day and a half, starting from the night flight across the Pacific and going from morning to night and into the next day. For now, I'll only put the time and place intended, as I've got a job interview early tomorrow (WISH ME LUCK~) and should probably be asleep right now.
