The taxi pulled into the parking lot of Seattle Grace Hospital and slowly ground to a halt. Izzie untangled herself from her redheaded companion and sighed. The previous night had been perfect and she had awoken to a sleeping beauty beside her.  Addison was curled into Izzie’s side, an arm casually draped over the blonde’s waist. Izzie was content to simply watch for a short while, as the neonatal surgeon’s chest rose and fell steadily with each breath.  The blonde admired the silken night gown Addison had donned, it was typical Dr Montgomery, it oozed class and sophistication and she cringed slightly, looking down at her tank top and boy shorts. She really found it difficult to fathom sometimes why Addison would be interested in someone like herself. And then she smiled. Remembering all the things the redhead had said, all the delicate, sensual touches Addison made and the mind blowing make out session which they had endured. The best was yet to come, thought the blonde.

“Why don’t you get out, I’ll see you inside.” Izzie offered.

“Ashamed to be seen with me Stevens?” Addison laughed and kissed the blonde lightly on the lips.

“You know what this place is like.” Izzie said sternly.

“Yes.” Addison sighed, “I do.”

“I don’t want them to ruin this.” The blonde offered.

“I know honey.” The redhead placed a hand on Izzie’s knee and gave it a gentle reassuring squeeze.  “I’ll see you inside.” She said. Again placing a delicate kiss on Izzie’s inviting lips. “Mmm. I could do that all day.” She smiled.

“I could let you. But people would talk.” Izzie laughed. “Go on.” The blonde said, practically pushing the other woman out of the cab. “I got this.” She declared as Addison attempted to hand her some money. She watched longingly as Addison walked away from the taxi and towards the sliding doors of the hospital entrance. There was an extra sway in those hips. The blonde admired the way Addison’s dress hugged her curves, accentuating her fine form. The cabbie cleared his throat, thus jolting Izzie back to reality.

“Oh right. Sorry.” She said gingerly and handed over the cash.

The resident, now sporting a satiated smile and sunglasses, strode confidently towards the building, following Addison’s path. She had forgotten to set a meeting time with the redhead but was confident they would bump into each other at some point throughout the morning.

“Hey.” She heard from behind her. Izzie closed her eyes, she knew the voice. Turning slowly, she forced a smile upon her lips.

“Hey Meredith, Derek, George. Are you guys like a threesome or something? Because you’re spending a lot of time together lately.”

“How would you know, you haven’t come home lately?” Meredith smirked.

“One night Mer, one night and you’re all up in my face.”

“There’s no need for such hostility Izzie. I’m pleased you’re getting yourself out there.” Meredith stated.

“You are?” Izzie asked puzzled.

“Yes, it will stop you moping around all the time and get you off that Bookface thing.”

“It’s Facebook.” Meredith spun round.

“Thank you George.” She hissed.

“Ok.” Izzie stated, still slightly confused.

“So, did you have a good time?” Meredith asked. Derek tugged on her elbow and indicated he was going to continue on his way, at which Meredith nodded.

“Yeah, I did. I had a great time. Thanks.” Izzie spoke in short sentences, unsure of Meredith’s intentions.

“So . . . .?”

“So what?” Izzie asked.

“Who was it?”

“I didn’t get laid if that’s what you’re asking, I had a few beers and crashed with a friend.”

Meredith scoffed. “Yeah right.”

“Yeah. Right. I did, geez Mer, just because you’re a nymphomaniac doesn’t make everyone else one.”

“I, I . . .” Meredith was at a loss for words.

“I went out with Addison, we had drinks, I crashed. End of story Grey. Got it?” Izzie felt an urge to end this conversation once and for all and maybe now Meredith was aware of the truth she would be less nagging.

“Oh.” She replied. “Seriously?”

“Yes. You can ask her if you like.”

“Erm, I think I’ll refrain from talking to her.” Meredith responded.

“Great. Ok, now that’s all cleared up, can I please get to work?” Izzie asked.

“Yeah.” Meredith began towards the lift. “Come on George.” She threw over her shoulder.

“I think Meredith knows.”

“You think Meredith knows what?” Izzie asked before placing a chunk of cookie in her mouth.

“She knows something about us.” Addison said, her eyes narrow with suspicion.  She took a sip of the hot tea in her hand.

“What makes you say that?” The blonde asked casually, not looking at her coffee date.

“She keeps staring at me, weirdly. Like she knows something.” The redhead concluded.

“That’s because she does.” Izzie sighed, daring a look at the former attending.

“She does? And what does she know?” Addison asked with a renewed interest.

“That I crashed at yours last night.” The blonde offered.

“Crashed? It was hardly a frat party Izzie.” The redhead laughed.

“She doesn’t need to know that, does she?” Izzie smiled with triumph, she forced more cookie into her mouth and moaned with delight at it’s moist texture and chocolaty taste.

“You’re enjoying that cookie far too much.”

“Bet you wish you were my cookie.” Izzie laughed.

“To be fingered and licked and tasted like that?” Addison asked raising an eyebrow.

“Oh god.” Izzie moaned, her head landed in her hands. “Don’t say it like that.”

“Like what?” Addison feigned innocence.

“Like all sexed up.”

“Hey, you started it.” The redhead surmised.

“Now I wish I could finish it.” Izzie mumbled. Addison smiled in response. She took another sip of her tea and sighed with satisfaction.

“I like this.” The older woman began. “Just sitting outside, enjoying the weather, the conversation, the company.”

“Me too.” Izzie grinned. “I wish I could kiss you.”

“You could, but the consequences would not be so pleasurable.”

“Don’t I know it.” Izzie huffed as she watched Meredith pretend she wasn’t looking from across the courtyard.

“Izzie?” Addison asked.

“Yes Addison?”

“Do you want to go on a date with me tonight?” the redhead asked wistfully. Izzie turned her attention to the other woman and smiled widely.

“I would love to.” She answered eagerly.

Izzie had tried on almost all of the clothes in her closet by the time the doorbell rang. Her bedroom resembled a jumble sale, clothes and shoes strewn everywhere. She hop scotched through the room, trying to find pieces of carpet to stand on and ended up flying towards the door.  Managing to steady herself, the blonde let out a huge sigh of relief, straightened her dress and relaxed her shoulders. Glancing back at the carnage she cringed, knowing the tidy up would be somewhat of a mission later, but now was all about her impending date with one very hot neonatal specialist. She went through the motions in her head, practising her greeting as she meandered down the stairs, the occasional word escaping her lips. Finally reaching the door, she took another breath before grabbing hold of the handle, she swung it open, words catching in her throat as she stared in awe at the beauty before her.

“Hey.” Addison smiled, pleased with the blonde’s reaction. All previous thoughts of what she would say had flown Izzie’s mind.

“Hi.” Was all she managed.

“You ready?” Addison asked?

“Huh?” Izzie managed.

“Are you ready to go?” Addison laughed.

“Oh yeah, let me just grab my purse.” The blonde ran to the stairs and picked up her purse. Addison watched with adoration as Izzie bustled about. The resident broke out in a wide smile as she landed once again in front of the redhead.  Addison held out her hand. Izzie obliged and took it into her own. Addison pulled the blonde closer, glancing around her quickly before swooping in and capturing Izzie’s lips for a welcome kiss.

“Hey.” She repeated her earlier greeting.

“Hi.” Izzie grinned. “Now I’m ready to go.” She smiled sweetly. “Where are we going?”

“Downtown. I booked a patio table at Tulio. I hope you like Italian.” Addison offered. Izzie pulled the door closed behind her and the two women walked toward the waiting taxi cab.

“I love Italian.” Izzie gushed. “You’re a girl after my own heart.” She beamed.

“Does that mean I’m going to get lucky later?” Addison asked with a giggle.

“Play your cards right and you might.” Izzie teased as she followed the redhead into the back seat of the taxi.

The wine was going down very well, the ambiance and the atmosphere was something to savour. There was a buzz in the air, the hum of the patrons chatting and talking, the clink of the cutlery upon porcelain was unmistakably the sound of fine dining.  Izzie sighed with content, the wine having mellowed her somewhat, she had been nervous, knowing this was an official date with the redhead. They had ordered their food and were now waiting patiently for their meals to arrive, though happy enough to just sit and talk and take each other in.

“Izzie, I didn’t say this before but you look beautiful.” Addison gushed. Izzie wore a simple cerise sundress, she had bought the Tommy Hilfiger dress on a whim in the sales and had been proven a bargain buy.  Izzie had gone with the ‘less is more’ notion after trying on what felt like several hundred outfits earlier. Her blonde tresses hung loosely to her shoulder, the shorter hair having been a relief and a much desirable new look.

“Thank you.” She said earnestly. “I could say the same about you.” She didn’t think her own attire was a patch on the obvious Armani number the older woman was wearing, but she was happy, Addison thought she was beautiful.

“Thank you Izzie.” Addison replied genuinely. She took a sip of her wine and simply stared at the blonde.

“Do I have some thing on my face?” Izzie asked suspiciously, picking up her knife and looking at her reflection.

“No.” Addison stated. “I just like looking at you.” She said honestly.  The blonde blushed and looked down at the table.

“No one’s said that to me before.” Izzie said, she looked up and smiled, “Well, no one who genuinely meant it, seedy, perverted comments aside.” She laughed. Addison frowned.

“You should never be treated like that.” She said.

“It happens. I got it a lot after those lingerie shots. Part of the job I guess.”

“Do you regret it?” Addison asked, interested in the blonde’s story.

“No.” Was the instant reply. Izzie took a moment to gather her thoughts, the wine glass pressing tightly to her lips before taking a sip. “It paid for med school. I wouldn’t be where I am today without having done it.”

“We wouldn’t be sitting here. I owe a lot to those pictures.” Addison smiled.

“I think maybe you should thank me instead.” Izzie said boldly suddenly full of confidence.

“Oh really?” the redhead challenged.

Izzie smiled widely, “Yeah, I think so.”

“Well play your cards right and I might.” Addison winked with a smirk playing on her lips.  Izzie laughed, impressed with the redhead’s humour.

“Can’t you think of your own lines?” Izzie dared.

“What can I say? I can’t think straight. Not with the thought of you in lingerie on my mind.” She paused before continuing, “Then there are the thoughts of me thanking you.” Addison trailed off in a daze. Izzie was caught between a blush and a grin but managed both nonetheless. This was turning out to be a very interesting evening indeed. She was looking forward with great anticipation to seeing how the time spent in such a romantic atmosphere would progress.
