So instead of working on stuff due tomorrow, I'm going to complain about it here. Hopefully this will encourage me to finish it, half-assed or not.

I enjoy my fiction class, I do. It's getting me back in the groove of writing, and I'm gaining the confidence I lost over my long bout of laziness and dry spells. But, really, a reading quiz on every chapter? BRUTAL. It's like logs all over again, my god. I love reading the chapters and the stories included, and I understand the importance of testing our comprehension (because, judging from one of the stories I just read, some people do not Get It), but this could be accomplished in much a less stressful way. Like talking. Talking is better than writing some three page pile of turd. I wouldn't even mind doing one of these say, once a week. BUT NO. Every class, that is, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday I need to vomit up one of these things. "It's maddening!"

However, on the plus side, this course is basically half over, and the workload is a LOT lighter now that we're into the actual story-writing. So please critique my story, I have to revise it by Monday.

And man, funny anecdote: I found a really cool bag in the library's lost and found, and since it's past the 30 day holding period, I snagged it this afternoon (a perk of working there--in the past I've yoinked a jacket and lamp), ONLY to find out when I got home that the weird logo SMYDEK is really some Christian-whatever thing (google it). Farewell coolness factor, haha. I'm thinking of trying to remove the stitching somehow, or covering it up.
