Drabble MEME

A friend did this, and I figured, it wasn't a bad idea. No promises concerning quality, but I'll do my best nonetheless. All muses up for grabs for this are:
The Shadow
Myra Reldon
Zatoichi
[also any character listed here]1. Playful ( Read more... )

Other people have asked me for multiples, therefore I intend to make you suffer as well. Cooking Ichi, because I understand he doesn't, and jealous Myra.

So far, Ichi had survived on a steady diet of cold, and room temperature meals. He’d been careful to keep his distance from the stove, but now, he stood before it, cane in one hand, and a small pot with some soup in the other. He just wanted a hot meal, but he was afraid, of the stove and of his own lack of cooking skill. With a frown, he set the pot on the stove, not realizing a few drops splash onto the burner, and turns it on. He hovers his hand near it, and feels the unit slowly heat ( ... )

*Laughs* Oh dear. Poor fellow. He'd have to get Chaz or The Shadow to help him clean up later, too.

I forgot to mention that this is hysterical! Chaz would totally heat stuff up for Ichi if he asked, though. She's not a great chef, but she's on her own plenty so she can probably handle soup and ramen and toast and stuff just fine. I can just see her visiting. "Uhhh... Mr. Ichi-san? Did something happen to the smoke alarm? Because it's hanging by a wire..."

Margo sat curled up next to Lamont Cranston, his arm lazily draped over her shoulder as they lounged in a corner booth. Myra had been assigned as Vincent’s ‘date’ for the night as they scouted out patrons that came and went from the establishment. It was a high-stakes game, and Myra knew other agents populated the staff and patrons. The Shadow had prepared a sting for the mob-owned location, but Myra found her attention momentarily wandering back to Margo, who looked like the cat with the canary as she kept close to The Shadow. He looked positively disinterested, but it was impossible to tell if it was Cranston’s usual appeal, or The Shadow’s own reaction to the clinging woman. Margo wasn’t oblivious to the situation she was in, but she was doing a good job of acting it. Tearing her eyes away from the odd couple, Myra scooted closer to Vincent, who smiled at her, before resuming his vigilant watch. Taking her cue from him, Myra kept her eyes off of the corner, and watched with him, waiting for the guest of honor to appear, and ( ... )

Oho! Very interesting! She should have it from the Old Tiger at least that he never found Margo interesting. Useful, sometimes, once he learned how to make her blundering work in his favour, but not interesting. I like this, very much! Poor girl, Vincent probably thinks Myra's lovely, but simply as a friend.

It probably doesn't help the fact that while she can't deny Vincent is a gentleman, her loyalties are undeniably to The Shadow.

She has a perpetual chip on her shoulder about Margo though, so it's a little hard to remain unbiased when she gets to go with The Shadow, even if it is perfectly logical.

Vincent is a gentleman, but I get the impression he's also just a bit of a ladies man, although that may be more in the comics than the pulps. Wasn't there some girl he fell hard for in one pulp, and then she went off and was never heard from again?

I believe you've managed to bias me, and by extension the O.T. against Margo even more than initially...

There was. I believe she was a Russian Spy who turned around to work for The Shadow during the story or something of the sort. He fell hard for her, but she thought it was better to leave and try to go straight, before she'd come back to Harry...I think that's how it went.

^^; Margo is wonderful in the comics, but the pulps have left me horribly biased toward her radio/pulp incarnation. I don't mean to push it onto your character!

She never came back in the pulps... and I think it's safe to say she never came back in the O.T.'s world either, although they might have at some point found out something tragic happened to her.

She is surprisingly capable in the comics I've read, and Kaluta seems to like her. I take the approach that eventually she became a more useful agent, but I've noticed in both comics and pulps she has this habit of pushing her curiosity past the point of appropriate caution, sometimes. I imagine that quality focused directly on The Shadow would become annoying and remain a mark against her.
