In the interim of a replacement unit for the ARX-7 being developed, Mithril has sent me a standard-issuse M9 Arm Slave. I have more than enough experience with the machine, but considering that I've been using something as high-spec as the Arbalest for several years now, it would certainly do me more than a little good to get used to the M9's ( Read more... )

So the Arbalest wasn't something they're planning to base a mass-production model off of?

The Lambda Driver technology is too unreliable for mass production, speaking from experience.

I've heard about that. It certainly sounds difficult... though maybe you could train a small number of soldiers in its use specifically.

Frankly, the technology behind the Lambda Driver is barely understood at best. I'm fine with them restricting its usage to a couple choice machines.

Right. No sense in overdoing it with a poorly understood technology. The GDF has more than its fair share of doing so.
