In the interim of a replacement unit for the ARX-7 being developed, Mithril has sent me a standard-issuse M9 Arm Slave. I have more than enough experience with the machine, but considering that I've been using something as high-spec as the Arbalest for several years now, it would certainly do me more than a little good to get used to the M9's

So the Arbalest wasn't something they're planning to base a mass-production model off of?

The Lambda Driver technology is too unreliable for mass production, speaking from experience.

I've heard about that. It certainly sounds difficult... though maybe you could train a small number of soldiers in its use specifically.

Frankly, the technology behind the Lambda Driver is barely understood at best. I'm fine with them restricting its usage to a couple choice machines.

Right. No sense in overdoing it with a poorly understood technology. The GDF has more than its fair share of doing so.

Do you ever get the feeling that military technology is advancing at an unreasonable pace?

We seem to have dozens of the sort of people that the world only usually has two or three of at a time.

Either it will slow down in the next year or two, or we'll end up wiping ourselves off the face of the galaxy.
