They had found the abandoned hut easily and thankfully, whoever had occupied it before had even left a bed and some covers. After getting Austin settled, Brendan had gone outside to find Ronon dozing under a tree, rather than gone altogether like he'd expected. The walk back to New Atlantis had been quiet but amicable enough, with Brendan tossing

"Fine." Brendan was no Dr. Keller, but Ronon guessed he would have to do. Ronon then shifted himself around on his bed and flopped himself down on his back. It was standard infirmary procedure anyway. He was pretty sure Brendan knew what to do.

The teeth marks were very evident and pretty bloody, and Brendan grimaced. That really must have hurt. "Why do you two hate each other so much anyway?" Brendan put the handkercheif aside and opened the first aid kit, taking out the small face towel he had stored there. He soaked it in the water and wrung it out before he dabbed lightly at the wound.

"He bothers me," Ronon supplied, as Brendan dabbed at his neck with the cloth. It felt soothing yet stung at the same time. Ronon hurt a lot all over, actually, but he wasn't exactly in agony. He mostly felt good, having at least gotten away with beating Austin up for awhile. The alcohol probably helped.

The truth was that Ronon smelt like more than just beer: he also smelt like blood, and dirt, and very faintly - vomit. Even after Ronon had tossed away the shirt Austin had thrown up all over, Brendan could still detect a faint whiff of it on Ronon's bare chest. Which was rather ... manly and exposed at the moment. Darn Ronon.
Brendan rinsed out the towel in the water and wrung it out once more before reaching for the disinfectant. "I'm going to disinfect the wound now," he said, dampening the cloth with it. "It'll probably sting a bit."

"Okay," Ronon said easily enough. Ronon was familiar with disinfectant. Stung like hell but it was necessary to get all the germs off. And in this case, terminator germs. If there even was such a thing.

With that, Brendan swiped the cloth over the open wound, dabbing up some more of the blood in the process.

"I'm going to kill him," Ronon bit out, feeling pretty disgruntled about the whole thing. Biting was supposed to be a last ditch effort. But then, maybe Austin had been running out of options. Yeah, Ronon liked it better that way. Austin was getting his ass beat and couldn't think of anything else to do but bite Ronon. Made sense. Ronon was virtually unbeatable after all.

"We should probably clean that again later," Brendan said, rinsing the cloth out again so he could clean the wounds on Ronon's face. "And you're not going to kill him."

Ronon eyed Brendan suspiciously. He was pretty sure he had seen a hint of a smile there. "What's so funny?"

"And what do you mean? I'm not laughing."

While it was true that Ronon wasn't the type to run around killing just anyone, he sure as hell was capable of it. But Ronon wasn't heartless. Nor a Wraith. So of course he'd need good reason. The terminator constantly stalking him and hanging around New Atlantis was a good reason. The terminator being an annoying little robot jerkface was too. "I'm still going to kill him."

"This won't be as bad, these wounds aren't as deep," Brendan said, and then cleaned them off as fast as he could. After all, Ronon was hurt already and he'd have a hell of a hangover tomorrow. Brendan wasn't heartless either.

"So, how do I look?" Ronon asked after a moment, as he hadn't exactly gotten the chance to see himself yet. He probably looked like crap, like he usually did after fights like this. "Think I can still get a date?"

Brendan got to his feet, picking up the bowl and the first aid kit as he did. He dropped the kit by his bed before he dumped the water out the window into a bush. He wrung out both towels as well; he would bring them down to the laundry later. After he'd put the first aid kit away, Brendan took an ice pack out of the cooler (he always had one or two standing by, just in case), and brought it over to Ronon.
"Here." He put it up against Ronon's face, where he'd gotten the brunt of the cuff. Brendan couldn't help but feel a little guilty about that.

"You don't have to watch over me, you know," Ronon commented when Brendan had sat down next to him again. He let Brendan hold the ice against his head, not really bothering to try and hold it himself. It felt kind of good he guessed, but he wasn't much of a ice your wounds kind of guy. A cold slab of meat probably would've worked better.

The truth was, Brendan felt guilty for quite a bit of what had happened that day, but he was trying not to let it get to him. He was quite aware that it was something he would live with and remember for ... well, forever, probably.
"Am I making you uncomfortable? I apologize, sometimes I can't tell these things."
