I see that a few of my fellow Sanitorium board members have joined Live Journal, and you know what the means? It means that I'll get to add more people to my rather short list of Live Journal friends!
Today was payday (finally), as well it needed to be - I've got a car payment in the mail that will clear any day now, and I didn't have enough in the bank to clear it. I've gotten used to living paycheck to paycheck, but that doesn't mean I like it. At least I can say that the reason I don't have any money is because I use it to support my family, and not that I blew it all on gambling, drinking, drugs, or video games. Well, OK, so I used to blow money on video games, but I can't anymore, because I have more important things to attend to. If I win the lottery, I'll go back to buying a game or two (or three) a month, but until then, I've got to plan such transactions months in advance. For example, here's two games coming out this year (I hope) that I HAVE to get, which means I'll need to save up well in advance of their release:
One of my most anticipated games this year, being a big boxing fan, is
EA Sports Fight Night 2004, the next evolution of what used to be Knockout Kings. Fight Night promises "total punch control" by way of the analog sticks, a much improved career mode, and basically more (and better) of everything. I hope they come through with their promises, because the career mode in Knockout Kings was pretty shallow, not to mention that the entire game lacked an overall depth. I'll be buying the X-Box version since I'm selling my PS2. The only thing the PS2 version has that the X-Box doesn't is online play via Electronic Arts' online gaming service.
My next most anticipated game is also for the X-Box and is called
Fable. Fable is an open-ended RPG where your character's actions can actually change the gameworld, for good or for evil. You start off young, and age as the game progresses. If you incur a wound, your character will bare a scar afterwords. The possibilities and replayability for this game really seem endless, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Now it's time to get lunch - I'm hungry. I'll have to visit the bank first, though, unless I plan on stealing food.
