QUARANTINE LOG/ANALYSIS
The Psychovirus has been contained, quarantine has been established and verified. Breakdown of the pathogen is as follows:
As a true code-based virus, as opposed to an analogue of a real-world version, its effects are slightly different. It's effectively parasitic and/or memetic code, inasfar as its replication is concerned.
Its effects involve hyper-accelerating the neurokinetics of the infected subject, causing an increase in the telekinetic powers of the subject, as noticed in freed minds. This rapid increase in neural activity is seldom controllable, producing effects in human host bodies similar to grand mal epilepsy. The continued activity that this produces will eventually cause brain damage in the subject, more or less scrambling the brain from excess load.
Similar effects are observed in programs, although the symptoms also include a psychotic rage, which can be passed on to those in the TK radius. This normally lasts for about 2 hours. Once again, failsafes within the programs' subroutines should cause a shutdown until the infection can be purged, which normally happens within a few hours after the infection. Repeat infections are possible, and will cause further stress and damage, without proper innoculation.
Upgrades will be disseminated through normal channels.
UPGRADES:PART ONE:
The w0man_1n_r3d has submitted a request for autonomy. Given that she is technically an employee of the Agency, and the nature of the peace, her request is undeniable.
Therefore I have set aside host space to allow her core program to be moved from her current construct, giving her autonomy from her current host.
She has also requested that fatigue-combating upgrades be supplied also. This will be installed on the host space and integrated in her transfer.
Plus I get free coffee!
UPGRADES:PART TWO:
Miss maritas has commissioned me to investigate methods in which a program could move its core programming into the brain of a host to allow them to function within the real world. To prevent repetition of the Smith incident, as it has come to be known, I have replicated the Acheron construct, to function as a buffer for the core code and subroutines when the program is out of the matrix. The program is then uploaded to a blank slate, such as a PVS candidate that would normally have been recycled by the system, allowing them to have an avatar in the real world. These tabula rasa, as I have come to call them, will have to have facilities allocated to them by the humans of Zion, as they must be maintained for periods of inactivity.
once_brown has volunteered to be the test subject for the initial attempt. The project will go ahead once the facilities in Zion have been set up. I look to my research colleagues in that field to construct the necessary apparatus.
