It's been a week of funerals round here. Sad. My uncle was a singer, thus at the burial site, the undertaker announced that it had been requested by my dearly departed uncle, that all in attendance sing, Dean Martin's You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You. We collectively looked around, shrugged, and got to it. As we sang, the undertaker tried hard to stifle a laugh, but failed. Priceless. Had to have been a first for him. He was so young, I don't think he recognized the song.
My cousin flew in from New Orleans where she is filming a movie. She plays opposite Eric Stonestreet from Modern Family. She said it's funny because she makes out with him and in real life, she's friends with his girlfriend. Record scratch. Girlfriend? You mean, he isn't really gay? Whoa! What a great actor!
This was my favorite song for a spell when it came out in the 90's.
It's been playing on repeat in my head for the past couple of days. I posted the Joan Osborne version on facebook earlier, though I like the original version better. So here 'tis.
Time to head to Rome me thinks.
