day 3ish - muenster

I’m calling this day three, even though I’m not sure what day it really is. Chris and I arrived in Frankfurt yesterday in the afternoon. It was at that time that we realized how complicated the disconnect of language would be on the trip. Fortunately, many people speak Englisch, even though I speak no German.

We picked up a car at the airport from Sixt. They gave us a Mini Cooper, so that was fun. I’ve never driven a six speed before, but it only took a bit to get the hang of it. At that point, the Germans and I spoke each others’ languages. Driving in Germany is just fun. I’m not completely sure how fast 200 km/h is, but it feels great.

We travelled 300 km or so from Frankfurt to Muenster and found ourselves lost while looking for our hostel. The place is called Sleep Station, and they cater nicely to English speaking people. We’re among lots of Koreans. As it turns out, we arrived one day early. Somehow, crossing over the Atlantic, we were confused about the date and our trip is off. We decided to stay an extra day in Muenster, despite our troubles in finding a place to use the Internet reliably. I sent Christian an email, and the computer at the Internet cafe was so restricted that I’m sure my Google password was keylogged.

Chris is very impatient with me sitting here typing. I have to go.
