Wow!
My God Son did something awesome today.
Sometime this afternoon I got a call from a number I didn't recognize. Fearing another fax machine blarring in my ear I answered my celly with a skeptical, "Hello?"
Then I hear a pre teen male mumble something so I say hello again. Then I hear the male say, "um. My class has something they want to say to you." I'm thinking your class? is this a new way to sell candy bars and magazines and Christmas wreaths? who is this kid?
Then I hear a class full of 7th graders yell, "Happy Verterans Day!" I was so excited and happy that I almost dropped my blackberry! Who thinks to call a Vet and wish them a happy veterans day? Did you, A-lister?
Admittedly I haven't "been there, done that" like a lot of folks have. I have put in nearly 19 years of service and seen some things. It was good to be recognized, especially by the youth of today.
So. If you are reading this, and you are a Veteran. Happy Veterans Day!
