Four Years

Aug 04, 2012 00:42

Four years ago I held my 26th birthday party at Universal City Walk. I, along with several of my closest friends, went into a movie theater and watched The Dark Knight. I walked out a completely changed woman. My life had changed forever.

My brain began to spin at the amount of awesomeness I had just witnessed and from that awesome sprang curiosity; if Nolan could pull off a Joker, could a Harley Quinn fit into his world? Surely, she could. How? Scouring the internet proved to be a fruitless endeavor, so with a nod to the old adage, "If you want something done right, do it yourself" I set out on a quest to write my own Nolanverse Harley Quinn. Whether it failed or succeeded is subjective, but what is undoubtedly true is that I made friendships - friendships that took me all of the way to Canada last year to come face to face with 2 of my strongest, dearest supporters - as well as the courage to strike out on my own and try out some creative projects, which evolved into my current blog.
In the last four years I have done A Lot: traveled to Ireland twice, had a major surgery that altered my life forever, went from glasses --> contacts --> glasses, turned 30, got published, got PAID to WRITE, ate a lot of amazing food, lost a family member, became a Whovian. I'm sure there's more but those are the highlights.

I saw The Dark Knight Rises for the first time yesterday, nearly 2 weeks after its initial release. I wasn't exactly enthusiastic about it, but I did my best to reserve my opinion for the actual viewing. I'll hold off on going in to great detail for another post, but suffice to say, I did not hate it.
I can say it did get a bit of my imagination fired up, but any sort of new material remains to be seen at this point in time. For now, however, I have unlocked most of my fanfics including Simply Makes You Stranger, A Better Class of Criminal, the spinoff fanfics, the pieces I wrote for Batfic contest, all of my Cillian Murphy Movie Reviews and some odds n ends.

Please reference my updated sticky post for easier access to hot, gooey Bat goodness

My way of once again saying thank you. Thanks for your support, love, comments and for sharing the lulz with me. You're free to fic rec like wildfire so a new generation of Nolanverse fic seekers can bask in the glory that is Agent 0f Chaos.
