15. Do you work mostly from start to finish, or do you vid sections out of order?

I vid completely out of order, lol! Even when I was working with Windows Movie Maker 1, which required completely linear vidding (whatever clip you put on the timeline automatically slid to the left next to the last clip), I would find ways around that by putting in still image placeholders to force WMM to let me place a clip where I wanted it to go. Then I'd slowly cut back on the placeholder and have to keep fine-tuning the placements of the clips as I filled in wherever I wanted to work on until the whole timeline was completed.

Vegas makes is SO MUCH EASIER since clips stay where you put them, allowing me to do my natural way of vidding wherever inspiration strikes. ;) A lot of times I'll come up with the bookends for a vid first: the opening and closing moments. Other times I'll start by knowing what I want in a specific lyric/musical cue and do that first and the bookends might end up being the last thing I come up with. Either way, I compulsively hop all over the timeline and fill in whatever comes to mind, creating little "islands" on the timeline and gradually seeking to get those islands to meet, lol! ;)

28. Do you take liberties with canon or are you very strict about your vids being canon compliant?

I don't think I've ever done a completely canon vid, to tell the truth, lol! ;) I think even when I've attempted it, there's still an element of me adding my own interpretation of the character or ship.

I haven't attempted a full-on AU in quite a while but I've done more than my fair-share of "And this is how I see this couple" vids that aren't hardcore AU but are more than what they've given us in canon so far. ;) My Ten/Donna vids probably all fall technically under AU, I suppose, because they've got my unabashedly romanticized spin on their relationship and a lot of people would say that's not canon. :| *giggles* ;)

I think the most straight up canon vid I've probably ever done, that has very little "spin" done to it on my part, is "Red Right Hand". The canon-ness of it has more to do with the song really fitting Peter (IMO ;) ), though, than me trying to keep my own interpretations to a minimum, lol! ;)

PS - Annnnnnd now I'm really wanting to vid Ten/Donna again, lol! Hm, I may have to do a s4 rewatch and see if something pops. While I was looking through my masterlist, I see I haven't vidded them for 4 YEARS, YIKES! o_O I really need to fix that if I possibly can. *nodnods very seriously* ;)

Hee, I love that you "hacked" WMM to let you vid your way! I'm glad Vegas is much easier to use.

Hee, I never thought of it that way, but that was kinda hacking WMM to get it to let me vid the way I needed to, wasn't it? I feel, like, 101% cooler all of the sudden, lol! ;) Oh, Vegas is a dream in comparison, that's for sure! :D

I ended up starting a completely out of the blue vid that had nothing to do with anything I was talking about BUT I still am actively searching through my music to see if something Ten/Donna-ish jumps out at me. *fingers crossed* Thanks, hon! :D

Awwww, that really means a lot to me for you to say that, hon! :D *smishes you* I don't know where all of the vidding mojo is coming from but I posted my new vid today, just a little more than 2 weeks from the last one! O_O Oh well, guess you can't ever really figure out the mysterious ways of the muses, huh? Lol! ;)
