where i see myself in 10 years

i'm well on my way on studying now.. or at least i hope so
i have a few days left (a little more than 2 weeks) before my first 3 exams (yep.. all on the same day) and then 2 days later my final clinical exam... which i'm looking forward to the most.

i'm not so sure if i'm being sarcastic there or not.

buuuut that's not the point of this post.
a couple of days ago, i kind of decided what field of medicine i would like to see myself in when i finally get to that stage of specialisation.

surgery.

yeh it sounds pretty darn hard, and a lot of work, and lots and lots of blood, but i think i can do it. the good things include keeping the title of DOCTOR in greece (yeah.. you become a mr or a miss in england) and shouting random things like:

"scalpel!"
"i need 50 CCs of [insert any applicable word here], STAT!"

its more of a 'hands-on' sort of job which requires me to actually do stuff, and not just look at a bunch of papers and x-rays and say:
'i'm sorry ma'am, your child has swallowed a safety pin'.

yep, always trying to put a bit of humour into my life. ha. ha. ha.

thinking about it again today, i realised i actually change my mind a lot about many things. yeah i have many years ahead, but it doesn't hurt knowing what your future will be like. does it?
about 4 years ago, i was intent on doing something genetics based. now as i look through my Big Book of Knowledge (my clinical book), i can see how complicated and boring it is. i never want to read about genes again.
a few months ago, i wanted to spend the rest of my life dealing with people's ever-decreasing immune system.

now its surgery.

[i wonder how long it will last.]
