"But that still doesn't lessen my irritation for Sam to lay ALL that blame on Dean."

Haha, now you know how Samgirls have felt for years, lol. But no, no I get it. I think we interpret that scene differently, and if the internet has taught me anything, it's that people see what supports what they already believe. I believe Sam is feeling betrayed and was talking about his trust of Dean, and that when he said "talking me out of the trials," he meant "the things you said to talk me out of the trials, I believed them, and now I find out you did this to me?" It's about trust, not about stopping the trials at all. That didn't get into this fic, I decided to explore something else with it. But because of my beliefs about Sam, this is how I saw this particular exploration going, even if it's not the way I understand Sam to feel in canon.

There's so much hate going on right now against my fave, it makes me sad. I'm usually pretty happy to have open dialog about stuff, but it seems like every episode just drives brother fans further and further apart. :-(

I do see and understand your point. We do all bring in our own perspectives to this relationship, don't we. It is about trust, that ever tenuous trust. The trust Sam has in Dean, and the trust Dean has in Sam. And around and around and around we all go.

There has been a lot of hate going around lately. Some vile things have been said, which, personally, I do feel are very much uncalled for. I generally stay in my own little protective flist bubble and don't venture out too far because of all the hate. It's a shame, really.

As you can tell, I am a total Dean!girl, but I do love Sammy. However, right now I am struggling with him, but I am trying very hard to see his side of things, his point of view, so that I can understand what is going on between these two brothers that I love so much.

You aren't alone in struggling with Sam. The show doesn't DO his point of view, and he's kinda too complicated to NEVER get his point of view on certain things and still understand what's up with him, so people end up struggling to figure out why he does things. So like we say in our super private SamGirl clubs*, there are as many understandings of Sam Winchester as there are fans of him (probably more, even).

Personally, I've been struggling with Dean for years, even though it's pretty clear what his thinking is for things. Sometimes I just think the writers have him say stuff just to get Sam into the position they need him in for the story, or to manufacture some drama between them, and it ends up turning Dean into not the character I fell for. I feel like Sam's getting that treatment now too, in order to push Dean into position. Sighhhh. I just want my boys, circa seasons 1-3 or so. Playful, unafraid to show they care for one another, powerful and brilliant. (Don't take this as a slight against Cas, it's just that 1-3 were when they actually showed these traits and had some kind of balance in the narrative.)

*there are no super secret SamGirl clubs and I never mentioned this, got it? ;-)

Very true. The Show tells the story mostly from Dean's POV, so there is that.

I do feel frustration with Dean sometimes, but I love him so much, and relate to him so much that most of it I am able to let it slide on by. But, I do see that there may have been sometimes that the Show has Dean and Sam say or do something to put the other into a position to move the story and narrative along.

I am with you, however, in I would love to get back to the more lighthearted and easygoing brothers from the earlier seasons. I would love to hear jerk/bitch again, or see the rock/paper/scissors contest between them. But in the state of mind both of them are in, I really don't see those types of things happening anytime soon. Hopefully someday we will get back to that, if even a little. I know they have both been through so much, that to regress would not be correct, but they can still go back to some more lighthearted teasing and banter. I do miss that.
