update:
the band's going well. we still have to get a name and a third player. i'm liking this sound quite a lot better than trafalgar's, maybe because i feel a bit freer. mr guitar and i write things together in a pretty organic way. he likes to jam and i like structure, so we compliment each other quite well. we both sing, we both can tambo when the mood strikes, and aside from that, we've got a bunch of instruments, him chiefly on guitar and I chiefly on clarinet. it's a nice sound. we're hoping to gig as early as a month from now.
writing's going well also. i broke 70k words, got an english teacher to go over it with a red pen (no, seriously, a red pen), and will file that marked up manu away for the big editing extravaganza at the end of book one. i hope i can get her to do the same for the second chunk. i've started thinking up pictures i can draw to post on dA with little snippets of story, but i don't know how big a reaction i'll get, if any. it'll be practice, anyway, in case i decide to do some illustrations at the beginnings of chapters. i've also started compiling fairytale ideas for my rosebush-related nano entry i'll be starting in november. i know now that it takes five billions years for me to write 50k words, so i'm jotting down even the tiniest idea i have as i get it, putting events in order so that all i have to do is sit down and write when november 1st comes around. that'll be a kids' book, entitled "The Goblin Prince and Other Horrible Stories for Children," unless I think of a better title. I'll be taking a break from The Rosebush Steward to write it, just so any of my readers out there are aware. I'll try not to end it on a cliffhanger Oct 31st. :-D
haven't worked on much art lately, but v and i are gonna think up a theme for a roller derby poster for charm city roller girls, just for fun. also, mr guitar and i'll be working on posters for our gigs, when we start getting them.
and OH tv. house'll start up again soon, and AVATAR. crap. less than a month now! i'm flipping out.
