Randomness
So I got an email that made me flail a bit this morning, in which the sender asked me if I was available for an interview this Saturday at 12pm. After my mad scramble to figure out the logistics of meeting with him during the window of opportunity (namely 9am-5pm, September 17 - September 19) I emailed him back to say that I was only available between 3 and 5 on Saturday and would be happy to meet him then or any time on Monday. I was facedesking in torment at the prospect of him turning around and saying "O HAI SEE U MONDAY 9AM!" Thankfully he turned around and said "Monday 12m."
So, I have a job interview Monday at 12pm for a job that I am half qualified for and must now use the next 5 days to go from half-qualified to two-thirds/three-quarters qualified.
Meep.

In other news I got a phone call from my pastor's wife around 4pm today. I thought she was calling me about a meeting we have scheduled for Thursday evening, but no. She called to tell me that one of the gentlemen at our church passed away today. Which is freakishly weird because he was at church on Sunday and there was nothing visibly wrong with him.
I think I recall some mention of health issues in his past, but as we're not quite clear on the details on what happened there's no telling what went on between Sunday and today.
He wasn't anyone I knew very well, but my only thoughts so far have been "Who's going to take over the power point thing on Sunday morning now?" and "He was the guy I was forwarding these particular emails to, what the hell now???" and "He's the one who knew what the hell was going on with the church computer and had plans to get an external drive to back shit up....WTF NOW?"
Oy.

In happier news, I started assembling 2 of the 5 minis I bought. Glued the main bodies to the stands, glued the two book halves together, glues the hair to the head and assembled the hats. Tomorrow I look to put the heads onto the bodies and possibly an arm or two onto the torso. We'll see how that goes.

I need to get a few things tomorrow, namely a 3-ring binder for our Youth Committee meeting notes that we can keep at the church, and paint thinner to clean brushes so I can finish painting the other two minis. I need to check and see how much a copy of The Night Circus will set me back, and if it's not too much I might pick one up.
Not sure if I want the hardcover or the eBook. The eBook is $8 cheaper than the hardcover, but I'm not sure if I want a tangible object or not. I need to see the actual book and hold it before I can decide.
I might even take a trip to Davids Tea and pick up a sampler of the new fall teas. Stupid me forgot to go pick up the Midsummer Night's Dream I asked to have put on hold several weeks back, and I need new tea to try.

Still have to write prompts for Sam and the 'Wan. Plus I have to write that review and work on a couple of SGA fics that I was thinking of poking at.
Also, need to start cultivating NaNo stuff, as it's only a month and a half away.
