Twilight (Movie Spoilers)

Nov 18, 2008 21:44

This is my movie review of Twilight. I will not give away anything major, I will mostly just be comparing the book and movie - characters and parts they left out - and my likes/dislikes, what I thought of it.

Well, I did like the movie. It was a good movie. The book was way better, without a doubt better.  They left out a lot of scenes from the book that I really liked, and was sad that I didnt get to see them. I did not like Edwards sparkles. They looked gross and freaky to me anyway, when they are supposed to be pretty and dazzling. Some of the (famous) quotes that we all love so much, sounded so weird when they actually said them out loud. The "Do I dazzle you" quote, never even happened. They were barely at the resturant for like a minute and that scene was over. But other then that, a lot of the dialogue was taken straight from the book, which was awesome.

I think that the emotions werent portrayed as well as they could have been. They werent as strong as in the book.

Scenes
They left out the scene from the book were Bella faints in Biology during the blood typing experiment. Which I personally thought sucked. Cause that was a great scene. And there were never any, "Edward Cullen is staring at you," scenes. Just one day he wasnt talking to her and then the next he was and she was asking him to La Push.

The reveal scene were Bella and Edward talk about what he is, is completely different. They dont wait for the weekend. After the rescue scene, which was pretty close to the book and he takes her home, she then looks up the "Cold Ones" on the internet and the next day at school, she walks by him and he follows her into the woods, near school, and they have the 'forest' scene. I didnt like how is skin looked in the sun. Its supposed to be pretty and sexy, but it looked freaky and nasty to me.

I think one of the reasons the emotions didnt seem as strong to me cause one of the best quotes and parts of the book was when they were in the meadow and Edward was explaining why he saved her. The "Not Her" quote is never said, which really sucked.

They dont have there first kiss in the woods. When they did kiss thought, it was intense and awesome. He takes too long of a moment leading up to the kiss, I was way too anxious and almost wanted to scream "kiss her already"! but i didnt. i loved the cuddling scene when she was alseep. so adorable.

Oh, and we only see Mike ask her out, not to the dance, but to the Prom. So Tyler isnt there at the end to pick her up, which really sucked, cause I thought that was hilarious in the book.

The resturant scene was disapointing. They were hardly there.Edward told her the he could read minds and startd naming off what people were thinking and this one guy was randomly thinking "cat" which was really funny.

One of my favorite scenes - the Baseball scene. It was so awesome to see them play. All the running and jumping and swinging and hitting. Amazing.

Another favorite, was the ending fight scene. Edward was so amazing, kicking James ass. But the best part was when Alce stepped in and snapped his neck right before emmett and jasper ripped the rest of him apart and through him in the fire. Go Alice!

Loved the Car crash scene. I got butterflies in my stomach when it was about to happen. It was perfect. Love Edward. SOme many sparks in that scene between the two of them.

The flashbacks were cool. When Jacob was talking about the legends and Edward talking about when people got changed. My sister thought it was hilarious when Carlisle bit Edward, and I have to agree it was a little funny. They were very cool.I really loved Bella's dream of Edward biting her. Very passionate.

They also left out the explanations of the Volturi and the Denali clan. So I have no idea how they are going to enter them in NM. Edward will probably explain who the Volturi are when tells Bella of his suicide plan, but no idea about the Denaly clan.

Characters
Jacob was freaking sexy as hell. Every time he came on the screen my sister tugged on my arm cause she had to tell me "Yum!" and I couldnt disagree with her. I think he looks better then Edwards character. I know, dont hate me. Im Team Switzerland, leaning towards Team Edward, but I cant deny the hottness going on.

I thought Charlie was funnier in the movie. Definately funnier. He made me loave so hard. So did Billy. He was funny.

Jaspers character was funny. Jessica descriped him as "He always looks like he is in pain." And he did. Throughout the whole movie. It was funny.

Edwards face was soo hilarious on Bella's first day, and his first smell. Lmfao. The way he looked at her was so awkward, she had to sniff herself.

I think out of all the characters, Emmetts character was the only one that nailed, absolutely nailed his character from the book to the movie.

I'll add more later if / when I think of anything else (tomorrow). Or you can ask me any questions and I will be happy to answer.

Also you can check out my pre-show post. its very non-spoiler and just talks about the movie experience in generel. Like how the rest of the auidence was extremely well behaved.
