Review and Discussion under cut (for spoiler purposes).
So I finally watched the fourth movie of the Saw collection. I have to say, I liked it. I thought it was going to be crappy like the 3,but surprisingly it wasnt.
My favorite (I think) was Saw II, Im a sucker for relationships especially parent child relationships. Which is why I love Saw II so much. I think theres more angst and passion when it comes to the parental bond which makes for better entertainment. I was very disapointed when the father was trapped at the end and the kid was in the safe the whole time. Great plot twist, but very sad. In III they hinted that it was possible that the father, Eric, was still alive, which gave me hope. Now in IV, he is. Which is so awesome. Because, I loved him in II and all my wishes were with him to make it outta this, but because its Saw, he didnt. Which totally destroyed all of my fandom dreams of him and his son reuniting. If I hadnt mentioned before, I am also a sucker for happy endings (at least when it involves my ships).
Besides my ranting about ships, the movie was very good. It brought a lot of the main characters (both who didnt die and those who did) back, which is a major bonus with me. It also tied up some loose ends and solved more puzzles from previous movies and this one. One thing about the Saw stories that I love are all the twists and turns you go through and that end the end it all unravels and your left saying "of course." Or something of that nature.
This movie does not disapoint. Great continuance to the Saw collection.
