Brooke Davis is probably one of the strongest female characters out there. While she may not have any super abilities or fight crime for a living she is definitely a survivor. She was brutally attacked and robbed, but she never gave up or quite. When he tried to kidnap her and her foster daughter, she fought back and defended herself. She testified against him when his parole came up. When he was release from prison and came after her, she fought him off instead of being his victim again.

You heard that I was starting over with someone new,
They told you I was moving on, over you,
You didn't think that I'd come back, i'd come back swinging
Her best friend, Peyton Sawyer, had an affair with her (at the time) boyfriend, not once but twice while they were in high school. This was such a huge betrayal and hurt her a lot, especially since Lucas was pretty much the only boy she every loved. For a long time, this experience scared her away from getting serious with men and letting them into her heart. Towards the end of the show, she decided to take some time off men all together. At least until Julian came into the picture. Even though she was hurt badly in the past, she was able to forgive and open her heart again and trust him. She also forgave Peyton and Lucas, because she didn't not want to stand in the way of true love and because she is just that awesome of a person.
