Darn you, PBS...
...for having so many swell programs! Keeping me up late! Distracting me when I should be doing other things!
I stayed up until 2 am on Sunday night/Monday morning watching The Rise and Fall of Jim Crow. I'll tape it next week. And tonight I watched The Greatest Hoax, which was about that most fiendish of plots, Piltdown Man. And in February there's 'The Viking Deception', which is about whether or not the Vinland map is real or a forgery. How am I supposed to get anything done when there's all this cool stuff to watch?

In a totally unPBS-related event, I managed to actually get into the bookstore on campus today and pick up one of my texts. Only one. The last one, as it turned out. The text for the other course wasn't there at all. Not even a little shelf sign. This troubles me. It also turns out that the bookstore only ever orders 75% of the expected number of books needed, hence the now-outage of 'Ancient North America'. WTF? What kind of way is that to run a store? Oi.
