The long-threatened snow finally arrived on Friday. It wouldn't have been so bad, except for the wind. It blew into my face and compacted against me. Ack. The snow continued to fall yesterday, all day. And into the blizzard (well, to me, anyway) I went, to take Strigoi for his first vet appointment. He did not like his new carrier, even though it was a jaunty plaid. There were furious bursts of activity from within as he clawed and kicked at the sides, which at one point nearly sent him toppling off of the bus bench. I felt like such a bad cat mom.
The vet visit itself was not that traumatic. He did not care for the thermometer (but really, who would). He barely noticed the vaccinations. He hated the pills. But he is healthy. What he is not, however, is neutered. And so he will be going back in a month for his boosters, and to get his little kitty 'nads removed, an experience besides which being pilled will pale.
Also, he weighs twelve and a half pounds. None of that is fat. No wonder my shoulder hurt.
Tomorrow I get to work in the snow. Joy.
