I'm so very happy that I had a good time this weekend!
That's right, suburban girl not only survived but thrived in the rough camp. Muchas gracias go to the awesome
tent, cot and sharing of propane stoves. Thank you so much for the food ideas! I ended up eating hot dogs, a sandwhich, a raw fresh veggie medley and a whole bunch of stuff at the Friday night potluck. Not quite biscuits and gravy, but a friend did make me french toast!
Four very close friends of mine headed out to beautiful
Camp Zoe, the new home of
PSG, just a few miles from
Diana's Grove. There is a lovely rock/sand bottom crystalline creek that stays around 60 degrees just a minute from where we sleep. It was hot this weekend, just hot enough for me to tear my clothes off and spend some quality time with little fish, crawdads and flowing current. The water had some things to share with me and I'm grateful that I allowed myself to giggle and float in those lessons. I had been worried about allergies and asthma but actually breathed better out there than I had all week.
Although it was a Lammas celebration with
Four Winds Fellowship (the one adults-only event the church runs), it was also a good mostly social weekend full of laughter, fire spinning and lovely location. And having main ritual in the water struck a good cord.
At closing ritual I was welcomed into the official ranks of Four Winds, reminded of my ongoing rein as May Queen and congratulated for popping my camping cherry. My fiance did not attend and was asked about and missed, which is nice.
I needed a vacation. The moment I stepped out of the car I felt like I could just stretch and stretch and touch the sky. After a few days surrounded by this majesty, draped in August sunlight and nearly full moonlight, I feel hand washed by God Herself. I give thanks, can see progress, feel abundant and a little refreshed.
