It makes no sense. You don't have to tally up your tears to laugh, you don't have to hate people to love others. I've met immortals, does that mean they're not alive?

Without tears, can you express properly the joy that is laughter? Could others? One thing is incomplete without the other. It holds a value that transcends a single being.
