Winter Ballet Recital Dance List
The cast list was posted for our winter recital of Selections From The Nutcracker. I'm surprised that I got into two of the dances. I'm not sure if one of the waltzes is actually from the Nutcracker but it's on the list so...yeah...it might just be another name? Anyway, here's the list:
March of the Toys: Madeleine Kittredge (lead), Susie Kent and Megan Ryder
Arabian Dance: Kaya Atonmy and Jessica McConnell
Russian Dance/Chinese Dance: Hallie Halliwell and Ralf Boyton
Waltz of the Flowers: Madeleine Kittredge (lead), Megan Ryder and Rose Hopkins
Waltz from Serenade For Strings: Felicity Merriman, Susie Kent, Hallie Halliwell, and Nellie O'Malley
Dance of the Reed Pipes: Kaya Atonmy, Samantha Parkington and Ralf Boyton
Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy: Felicity Merriman (lead), Kirsten Larson and Nikki Halliwell.
As some of you might be able to gather, we're not doing the dances in order but then again we're not doing the full ballet. We're just dancing to song selections. So, we don't have actual characters we're playing but if we did, Felicity would equal the Sugar Plum Fairy. Anyway, I'm actually happy with how it turned out. Now to really start getting the dances down and working on costumes.
