The other day Elbinia took Cavan and I to her hometown. She wanted to take us to a river where she used to play when she was our age. When we got there we found out someone had bought the land near the river and put up fences! There was no way to get to the river! But, Elbinia said she promised a day in the woods so we would find another part. The only part we could find was purchased by the city and covered with concrete! I went on a tirade to Cavan about how rude it was for the city to lay all that concrete and destroy the natual beauty of the river.
Then Cavan said, "Well, at least the city didn't sell it to a condo developer." She's right about that, I guess. We didn't play on the concreted area because there were dogs running around. Instead, we tried to reach the river by going around through the flood plain.
The flood plain had flooded in the Spring and there was too much driftwood to actually get TO the river, but we took some pictures and found a turtle.
Here's a tiny album of the trip..
