AG_Fics - FIC BATTLE 2.0 - The reckoning. (JK. I swear it won't be as scary as the last one)

Feb 11, 2013 23:12

I don't know if anyone remembers this little thing that happened here last September...

Okay, maybe you're still recovering from PTFD (post traumatic ficting disorder) and I just set your recovery back another three months by bringing it up (for that I'm truly sorry) but we need to talk about it if we're ever going to get past it. And something I wanted to do, if we ever did another Fic Battle was to have teams. So there's a support system. So you can say, OMG I AM DYING YOU WRITE THIS ONE. I'LL DO THE NEXT ONE. So you can share the experience of thwarting fate and destiny (and those pesky prompters) with other people.

Now, I'm going to be honest I'm not up to date with Merlin Fandom, I have fallen in love with another Fandom and it's sometimes hard to remember that there's other universes/characters worth thinking about instead - so what this post is asking is: Do you wanna play? Are you still as competitive as you were last September? Do you still need to show your friends just how much winning means to you that you would deny sleep and healthy life choices in order to forge on?

So will you do me the honour of remembering what you love about Gwen, Merlin, Arthur, Morgana, Leon, Gwaine (etc...) with me?

I'm not asking for a definite commitment. This isn't a Sign Up post. Or a proposal. This is a question, see poll below. Comment if you want to, you have thoughts, I wanna hear them.

.Short Description of a Team Fic Battle (AGF style):

+ At least 6 players. (Maybe that can include a mod or two, we'll see)
+ Each Team (and there will be at least 2) will have a separate post that is theirs - their territory. Which is where they will receive prompts. And where they will make their fills.
+ Team Members are to cooperate, working together to defeat the army of prompts as they start to swell and grow in number.
+ The aim of the game is to defeat (read: fill) the most prompts of any team in the time available. (Also: to drown your opponents in prompts. Maybe every 5 unfilled prompts left at the end will drag the Fill Tally down half a point?)
+ Writing Time will be about 10 days or so. Prompting time will end 3 days before that. (I think we all remember how that went last time)
+ After the Prompting time ends there will be a period of 24 hours where you can 'borrow' (read: flat out steal) prompts from another Team's post to fill and make your tally higher.
+ Teams will be Assigned by the Mods.
+ The minimum word limit will be something like 250 words.
+ Prompters won't be able to decide who on the team (that they are prompting) writes their prompt.
+ A prompt once filled only counts as one point to your tally, even if multiple members fill it.
+ Team Players and Prompters can be one and the same, but you can't prompt your own team. You're trying to win remember.
+ Everyone must use their Usernames, no ANON.
+ Each prompter will be limited to 4 unwritten prompts PER TEAM. (Once one is written you can drop them another. Make them really work for the title of Winner)
+ The Team must work to finish the first five (5) prompts - in the order they received them - before they can pick and choose. These must be by at least 3 different users. (So, you skip a prompt if you've completed one for that person, moving onto the next person, and so on - because they get four goes at prompting your team - and we want to make sure you get a diverse variety of prompts, not just force you to fill the first 5 which two early birds managed to load you down with before anyone could blink)

So mull it over and get back to me. If we get a bit of response (four people) I might do a Sign Up post next week, coz I wanna get this rolling before my new Fandom comes back on TV and distracts me; Merlin deserves all my focus for a couple of weeks.

Poll Team Fic Battle Poll - YAY or NAY

MOD NOTE: If we don't get much of a response, we'll shelve the idea and I'll ask you guys again in June. I understand if you're feeling more in the mood for a traditional challenge. And re: the title of this post - nothing could be as scary as the first one.
