You'll notice that some of these names are from the former Sign Up Sheet Post: Look, if I have a record of you signing up within the time you were given (which I do) then:
ABSOLUTELY, ANY TIME you want to start a thread in the Entry Post (with your form filled in) this week is perfectly fine with me. I don't expect everyone to return and sign up again.

Everyone on the above lists can play as an Author, as far as we Mods are concerned.

And for those who don't sign up in time (and aren't listed above) - You play the pretty important role of keeping the Authors swimming in prompts.

(And don't worry Authors you can prompt too - inbetween writing and reading and squeeing and RL...I'm sure you'll find a moment)

The best way to prompt in a Fic Battle is to Prompt things based on what THE AUTHOR says they like writing (in their forms), in a way that corresponds with what YOU would love to see written.

REMEMBER - You can only have ONE (1) PROMPT awaiting to be Filled PER AUTHOR.
You must wait until they post their Fill (in reply to your prompt request) before you may prompt that Author again.

We all good?

It's a good time to ask questions now, if you're still confused as to just what you signed up to...10 clarifications >>

Q1. RPF allowed? - Yes, but only General/Friendship rated. No smut. And you must ask the Author if they're okay with it (if it's not already stated in their form) before you prompt it.

Q2. Do I have to use the form I submitted to the Sign Up post? - No, that was just to gauge number of partcipiants. And for everyone to get a good look at what everyone's interested in writing (and what they want to avoid) in order for us to move in a smooth transition from theoretical Fic Battle to ACTUALLY being in the chaos.

+ You can refine your form as much as you like, but most post the FINAL VERSION into the Entry post. There will be no ability to edit once everyone's Piper'd (cough) replied to your form with their prompt requests.

Q3. I didn't sign up in time, can still I be an Author? - Nope. Sorry, Only those who signed up in time can be Authors. But you can still prompt :D

Q4. Do I have to write all my prompt requests in the order I receive them? - No, just the first 4 you get. Then you can pick and choose what you write and in what order.

Q5. Is there a Maximum word limit for a Fill or Prompt? - Nope. But short/vague prompts will probably be chosen over longer ones - this is a competition after all - the Authors want to win.

Authors, you can write as much as you want to, but each Fill part (ie part 1,part 2, part 3) must be in reply to the prompt - and again, it's a competition, you probably shouldn't spend 1000 words on every prompt you receive if you want to WIN, or at least SURVIVE.

Q6. How do I 'Survive'? - Write ALL of your prompts. Whether that's 12 or 60. ALL OF THEM. Before the end of the challenge. Some shifty brave Authors may choose to hold off writing all easier prompts until it's the final 24 hours of the challenge and no one can prompt them anymore...

Q7. What do I get if I survive? - A Survivor banner. Like the Winner's, but smaller and not as shiny.

Q8. Do I have to track my thread? - Only if you don't already receive alerts for people replying to your comments.

Q9. Do we start as soon as the Entry Post is up? - YEP. But Prompters will have to wait for Authors to sneak in and repost their forms, before they can prompt.

ALL PROMPTS MUST BE IN REPLY TO AN AUTHOR'S STARTING COMMENT (IE THEIR FORM) NOWHERE ELSE.

Author's must wait to be prompted.

Q10. What if I'm prompted with something that I've specifically mentioned in my form that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole? - Ignore that prompt. Let me (mustbethursday3) know and I'll sweep it away. And if it's in your first four prompts, Fill the 5th prompt as a replacement.
