---START---
DISGUISE:

1. Change in appearance or manner in order to conceal the identity of (someone or something).
2. Misrepresent (something) in order to obscure its actual meaning.
3. Mask, costume or manner of that disguises.

'Murdered gold and colours flashing
Time like blood like flowing hair
Faces merging airplanes crashing
And before the might of all that's true
I'll raise my head and wake to dream anew
With a clean pair of eyes

A clean pair of eyes
Don't need no-one to blame
Don't need no disguise...'

{David Gray - A Clean Pair Of Eyes}

TEACHER:

1. tell or show someone how to do something.
2. give lessons in (a subject).
3. cause to learn or understand.

"It is now seven-oh-six. You have exactly eight hours and fifty-four minutes to think about why you're here. To ponder the error of your ways...and you may not talk. You will not move from these seats...and you...will not sleep. Alright people, we're gonna try something a little different today. We are going to write an essay--of no less than a thousand words--describing to me who you think you are. And when I say essay...I mean essay. I do not mean a single word repeated a thousand times."
{Mr. Vernon, The Breakfast Club}

CROSSOVER:

1. To draw elements (places, characters, themes) from one fandom (tv/movie/book) and inserting it into another - ie Merlin. 2. Have a look at the Crossover Index on TV Tropes.

'I Am. Through Nature of He who is called "I Speak," I Have Come. Though my Feet shall Touch upon Two Base Earths, I Have Come. My Existence has been used in Stories for generations. One is a Tale of a Cunning Rogue. One is the Epic of a Courageous Knight. Through my Influence, these two shall meet. I Am the Literary Device of Unity. I Am the Trope of Mingling Worlds. I Am Crossover.'
{A Badass Boast for the Trope, TV Trope}

HOLIDAY:

1. time spent away from home for rest or recreation.
2. day or other period of rest from work or studies.

'Christmas Amnesty. You can fall out of contact with a friend, fail to return calls, ignore e-mails, avoid eye contact at the Thrifty-Mart, forget birthdays, anniversaries, and reunions, and if you show up at their house during the holidays (with a gift) they are socially bound to forgive you-act like nothing happened. Decorum dictates that the friendship move forward from that point, without guilt or recrimination. If you started a chess game ten years ago in October, you need only remember whose move it is-or why you sold the chessboard and bought an Xbox in the interim. (Look, Christmas Amnesty is a wonderful thing, but it’s not a dimensional shift. The laws of time and space continue to apply, even if you have been avoiding your friends. But don’t try using the expansion of the universe an as excuse-like you kept meaning to stop by, but their house kept getting farther away. That crap won’t wash. Just say, “Sorry I haven’t called. Merry Christmas” Then show the present. Christmas Amnesty protocol dictates that your friend say, “That’s okay,” and let you in without further comment. This is the way it has always been done.)'
{Christopher Moore, The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror}

INK/TATTOO:

Ink: 1. coloured liquid used for writing or printing.

"People disappear when they die. Their voice, their laughter, the warmth of their breath. Their flesh. Eventually their bones. All living memory of them ceases. This is both dreadful and natural. Yet for some there is an exception to this annihilation. For in the books they write they continue to exist. We can rediscover them. Their humor, their tone of voice, their moods. Through the written word they can anger you or make you happy. They can comfort you. They can perplex you. They can alter you. All this, even though they are dead. Like flies in amber, like corpses frozen in the ice, that which according to the laws of nature should pass away is, by the miracle of ink on paper, preserved. It is a kind of magic. --Margaret Lea"
{Diane Setterfield, The Thirteenth Tale}

Tattoo:
1. pattern made on body by pricking the skin and staining it with indelible inks.
2. make such a pattern on the skin.

A candle burning for everything I've ever wanted A tattoo burned for everything I've ever wanted and lost I had a long list of names that I kept in my back pocket, but I've cut it down to one and your name's at the top
