Muromachi Touji lives in Tokyo with his parents, having just returned from staying with his elder sister who has an apartment elsewhere where he took university and his first job, from which he resigned after getting hit in the head by natto during one of the students’ food fight in the canteen.
For that first job he had gone back to his junior high school as a teaching/technical assistant and put up with yet more of those “Not in the History Department?” questions after graduating from University. (His sister had found her apartment ‘in the area’ before the Muromachi family had moved and ‘the area’ changed; Touji’s been living with her on and off, mostly on, for these few years, but she’s close to getting hitched and he doesn’t really want to be in the way.)
He’s been plagued with those jests ever since Junior or Senior High when the syllabus’d gone into History, and what he wouldn’t have given for a Sengoku or Momoyama in his class; even an Echizen or an Inaba would have been nice… Well, his seatmate for one semester’s Humanities had been a Yamaguchi - at least he got to return commiserating looks during Geography. And another semester’s seatmate across the aisle from him, a Tajima, had actually moved there so that they could take the nonsense together rather than alone at their respective parts of the room.
And his personal name - his only consolation would be that at least he hadn’t been given similar Kanji as his sister’s unlikely (rather unfeminine) Touya - her kanji was indeed the ‘peach’ character; he didn’t know how she survived the ‘Muromachi Momoya-ma’ she was bound to have gotten, but she was always more self-assured and easy-going that he was… He tends to use hiragana for his first name unless reminded (and anyway getting ‘Jyuuji’ as a mispronunciation is still better than ‘Momoji’, he makes himself remember to be thankful for the little things every time he gets “Only -one- sister? I thought you had maybe nine…”, which is really one of the milder, less lewd comments he’s gotten) and was occasionally ‘filled in’ as the kanji for the ‘Touji’ (Eastern Temple, famous landmark) of Kyoto.
Muromachi has just applied for and been accepted as a teaching-admin assistant in a local university (since it is after all his only experience, although it still isn’t his area of graduate specialization), and is applying for a part-time tutoring post to save up enough to get himself an apartment, despite his mother’s complaints that she hasn’t seen enough of him these past few years…
Being the only son and the youngest in a rather average family, Touji is mostly just a typical young man, usually leaning toward the quieter side as opposed to some of his peers, but has a snarky side he’s not afraid to show, a substantial leftover amount from a very snarky teenhood.
His sister had to threaten to throw him out if he didn’t buck up when he ronin’ed second year in Junior High to get him to prioritize properly and keep his ass in the school soccer team as well as promote to third year. Apparently she made quite an impact because her brother never failed another exam (though he came rather close one year in University after they’d fought over his spending too much studying time on the band he guitared and occasionally sang for on the side among other things, and he skipped the paper, but he pulled through on a re-sit), was made and survived being captain despite the added pressure of good grades, and he holds her in utmost regard.
Muromachi has little to no gang involvement thus far, and has no particular interest in joining one at the moment. He is not entirely oblivious to their existence and activities, but has more or less decided that in certain things, ‘ignorance is bliss’ is a pretty acceptable policy to go by.
He enjoys in general reading, music (a lot of soundtracks and rock, with a bit of everything thrown in for decent measure), is a closet anime fan with particular likings for mecha and is an internet junkie at times when he’s not solely downloading latest-episodes. He can also be found in arcades and at his PC doing some madcap online (or not) computer gaming at all hours of the day/night when not out or at school (or work; whatever one calls it, either works).
He does own a PS2 (given as a 21st birthday gift from his sister), but wastes much, much more time on the PC (after all, nothing like gaming and being contactable online at the same time, only 2 keys away- the network on the PS2 Online holds far less appeal to him than that of the Internet accessible on his trusty first-love desktop (put together by Touji himself, for optimal gaming and running performance). Particular all-time favourites he wastes time on when he feels like it include Warcraft III: Frozen Throne, Half-Life Counterstrike, Starcraft: Brood Wars, HALO, Rome and anything with a strong multiplayer base online.
Or he might while away the hours between school and going back home at anywhere he can get some quality reading done with a good drink, enjoying his winding down time as much as proper rest (which if one were to seriously think about it, doesn’t occur very often). Finds himself in out-of-the-way places in attempts to find somewhere quiet at times, as he has little night life while living with his parents, restricting himself considerately/practically to Fridays and Saturday nights to go out for more… social activities.
Physical sports-wise he swims, cycles and plays basketball, soccer and a little tennis, if approached.
Not the friendliest person around, but approachable and to most will be friendly enough. He has a tendency to exude a bit of a loner-geek aura at times, but can be quite personable if warmed up to the company. Is warm and affectionate to those he takes to his heart, though it’s not seen particularly often. Finds himself (to his chagrin) easily charmed by the young-and-cute, even if he doesn’t always show it.
Can be protective; though he might be annoying in teasing others, he will not stand for outright bullying of any sort. Generally neutral on many stands, the stands that he does have a particular take on will be staunch ones that he’d be only too happy to elaborate on or argue about.
Favourite foods include Tom Yum Kun(g), which speaks volumes about his spicy food tolerance, especially by local standards. He enjoys
He sticks to public transport although he does have a driving license, since his monetary priority at the moment is an external place to stay where he doesn’t have to be back before one for fear of waking his parents as he returns and be restricted to headphones and excessive curtaining (not to mention having to keep his own volume down) when gaming late into the night.

Same tanned skin and average-slight build in the anime, Muromachi does still sport trademark sunglasses on his person some of the time (mostly when he isn’t working), but not so much of wearing them the standard way; they’re likely to be found in his hair up on his head, on the back of or around his neck, shirt pocket…
When not in working attire (a lot of smart-casual shirts), he sticks to casual-comfortable clothing; more smart-casual shirts, tees or sweaters, the occasional hoodie perhaps, jeans and cargo pants. Sneakers with socks for the most of his casual footwear, though he has boots that are of multipurpose usage, and *boots* that are for indulging in his occasional dress-up.

173 cm (just 8 cm taller than his canon persona, 1 for each year he’s older XD *dork*)

Turning twenty-two this October, ’Machi is occasionally reminded that he isn’t getting any younger and is not particularly happy with the fact. Still, he has more than half a year left to enjoy being twenty-one, and is likely to make the best of it. (Be prepared to read whining in Oct, though =X )
