She is the One/Hurt, Comfort,Angst/ Gwen,Arthur,Morgana,Merlin/Gen/PG 3/3

"Its not that bad," she studied it under the lapmlight it bled sluggishly not with frightening profusion it last night. "I should probably change the bandage and use some more of that ointment Morgs gave me. I have everything in my purse."

Arthur put the bags down and sat beside her on the bench. She handed him her purse and he fished the kit Morgs had given her out of her purse. Bandages, gauze, tape; the anti-septic and healing ointment Morgana had made for her and alcohol swabs. He got out his cell-phone and switched it out of power save mode before pointing it directly at her wound. She watched very Arthur scrub his hands with one of the alcohol swabs. He was quite thorough getting his nails and everything before gingerly removing her bandage.

He frowned and tsked.

"When did you get this?" He asked.

"Last night."

"It doesn't look infected and you're right it's not that bad."

"You can tell all this Doctor Arthur?" she said cheekily.

"Well I do want to be a doctor," he said seriously "and I took a very long and thorough field aid class last summer. In field aid you really need to be able to gauge the seriousness of a laceration and learn to recognize an infection."

"Oh."

"This ointment you've been using?" He asked that as he dipped a cotton ball into the little pot of Morgana's ointment.

"Its antiseptic, aids in healing and numbs the pain."

"Smells delicious too," he smiled and dabbed the cotton ball along the length of the laceration. Then with warm, gentle fingers he taped the bandage into place and then the gauze over that. His hand lingered warm on her side for just a moment.

"Are you sure you're okay?"

"I'm fine," she said.

For a long time they sat silently for a while Gwen looking up at the full while moon wondering about her destiny, wondering if she believed in destiny. Was tuxedo guy as nice as Arthur? He certainly looked like Arthur.

"Guinevere you said you got that last night."

His voice was low and solemn.

"Yeah," she replied without thinking.

He looked at her then gaze intense. He took her chin between his forefinger and thumb he rested his other hand on her cheek. A warm breeze stirred his hair. What was he doing? Was he trying to kiss her? Gwen wasn't sure how she felt about that. But he didn't kiss her he just looked at her. Tapped the mole to the left of her nose with one finger and she smelled the sharp scent of alcohol mingling with the scent of roses. His thumb stroked the beauty mark just below the corner of her mouth.

"I was really worried about you," he said at last.

"What?"

"I hated to just leave you with your friends but I had to. I'm glad you're okay Sailor Moon."

She froze really unsure of what to say or do but when he pulled a rose from the inside of his jacket Gwen reached for it without thinking.

"The tuxedo-guy?" He nodded and she felt the back of his hand under hers.

"I should get you home and my parents need the batteries and things."

She nodded; he rose and helped her up. They walked the rest of the way in silence both of them suddenly uncertain.

They paused awkwardly on her doorstep.

"Thanks." He said.

"No," she grabbed his sleeve "thank you. You saved my life yesterday."

"I'm glad I did." He pulled the rose back out "Here kept it."
She took it from his hand felt the warm brush of his fingertips yet again.

"It's beautiful." She remarked looking down at the velvet red petals.

"Guinevere."

A pleasant little shudder passed through her and she looked up. Quickly before she could think to react he leaned down and kissed her swiftly on the cheek lips brushing the corner of her mouth.

"Goodnight Guinevere." And then he ran back across the street to his house.

Clutching the rose and her pretzel Gwen went inside.Without a word she hurried upstairs to her bedroom.

I'm glad you liked it. I didn't get in as much Merlin and Morgana as I wanted.I kind of want to do more for this.

Hee.

When I saw Sailor Moon in your preferences I couldn't resist - I mean when would I get another chance to prompt it?

He looked to be just her age, tall, wide through the shoulders but sort of raw and incomplete.

That is a pretty perfect description of Arthur if ever I heard one.

Also, totally only realising now that him throwing roses at people (and generally carrying a florist of them in his clothes) is so ARTHUR and fitting :D

Also, I have a bit of a thing about first-aid/bandaging conversations/scenarios.

So, thank you, I love it.

When I put Sailor Moon down I had no idea what I would write, I honestly I didn't really believe anyone would prompt me. :/ Then I started writing this and I was sort of amazed at how easily Gwen and Arthur slipped into those roles and story lines. But Gwen -God knows she is way more mature than Serena!Usagi- is basically an ordinary person with a huge heart surrounded by people with either extraordinary gifts or resources and education that have put them miles ahead of her. She and Usagi would easily have the same sort insecurities in this situation. And Arthur is a perfect sort of Darien!Mamo-chan and I love the idea of him all dashing and romantic.

The reincarnation and messiah aspects of their stories are equally complimentary. I really enjoyed filling this it was a great prompt. You're welcome and thank you for prompting it.

You obviously don't know me well enough - Random, is practically my second name.

Gwen...is basically an ordinary person with a huge heart surrounded by people with either extraordinary gifts or resources and education that have put them miles ahead of her. She and Usagi would easily have the same sort insecurities in this situation.

You put that really well, and I'd love to see more of Gwen's insecurities explored.

Something more than just class definitions.

She's the normal one, with friends and enemies that have the power to do awful - terrible things and she's sometimes all that holds them together, or stops them...I mean it's crazy.

She's so special, but no one really takes the time to make sure she's okay.

Arthur would look good in a tuxedo :D

You're welcome and thank you for prompting it.

It was my pleasure, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The surprisingly simple parts of these types of challenges are always the most satisfactory.
