OMGOMGOMG. Okay, so I was all aflutter about it on twitter and now that I've calmed myself a bit I can talk about Paul coherently! :) It helps ( Read more... )

Drive-by comment while on my search for Paul-related slash ficcage. Mostly because I have to agree about the whole... religious thing... I didn't really get an atheistic vibe from it. Definitely, bashing on organized religion though... And while I'm not a Christian, I WAS in Alabama... visiting my Christian mother... who wanted to go see a movie with me.

Loved the movie, but the religious stuff was so opinionated and blunt... Definitely lost some enjoyment just squirming in my seat, wondering what mother thought.

Luckily, while mother disproved of the religious stuff, she thought the rest of the movie was hilarious and we're about to watch Hot Fuzz.

I kind of wish movies that aren't about religion as its sole subject matter would just leave it alone altogether... But there was lots of slash and general epic adorableness. I can forgive them.

It was quite strange, I got it and honestly thought the anti-religion things were very much in line with my own feelings - but it made me rather uncomfortable that it was such a big deal.

And yes, that's precisely why I forgave them. Hee.

I saw the movie just two days ago (they're awfully slow over here with bringing it on) and have to agree in some major points.
Some parts were a bit lengthy and the whole religious motif...I'm often enough a bit bored by the theme because I know a lot of people for who the believe in God, Evolution and the Big Bang doesn't cancel each other out.

It's also the same impression of their relationship I got after watching it just once. The depiction made me quite happy and squeeing (which I guess was weird for everybody who was with me).
It was kind of like they said "Let's bring it for the fangirls (we now what they're thinking anyway)". But then their work always make me wish for a friendship like this. Besides I had fun simply because I could get so many references.

Sorry for the long comment by just a drop-by...

*nod* I got what they were going for, and I think a lot of it was pretty funny - but meh, not really my thing.

They were *SO* bringing it out for the fangirls. Haha. It was really a great time, and you could tell they had a lot of fun with it too. I can appreciate that even more.

No worries, hon. :) I like long comments, be they drop-by or flister.
