Yuffie'd rather live, rather fight and learn magic and challenge Leon and get her ass kicked soundly. She doesn't understand Aerith's attraction to books -- books and flowers and learning -- but she doesn't argue.
"What's a heart, really?" she asks, once.
Aerith doesn't know. Books don't say.
"What you make it," she says, after some thought. And she traces a heart on Yuffie's palm that tickles, warm with her finger's heat, and they both smile.
