That was amazing. I mean, just wow. Every part of it just rang true.

This was so devastating, and so good. I know the ending was technically a happy one--or, rather, hopeful--but I can't help but mourn for these characters; for the innocence torn from them as they grew into adulthood.

You wrote Merlin's experiences so beautifully (heartrending without being overdone), especially his relationships with others (his connection to Arthur was the core of the story, obviously, and as such had an enormous and powerful presence, but his friendships with Gwen and Morgana, his mother, the country people he worked alongside, and even Arthur's knights was exquisitely done as well).

The emotional reach of this work is amazing, as is its imagery (two scenes that were particularly vivid in both these respects were the scene where Merlin presents Excalibur to Arthur and the final battle).

This was a rich, weighted, nuanced piece that was excellently written and really affected me. Thanks so much for sharing it.

I wondered, while I was struggling with the story, whether I was maybe pushing it a little. (Erm. A lot?) But I kept thinking that something serious had to have happened, difficult trials Arthur and Merlin each had to face, in order to shape them into the great king and warlock we know they'll become.

I'm really glad you liked the inclusion of Merlin's relationships with other people in his life. I wanted to include more Gwen and more Morgana in this story, but ended up being limited by Merlin's situation.

Your lovely comment makes me wibble. Thank you so much for reading.

You certainly know how to pack a wallop! I don't know if my poor heart could take it, reading it again, but you've managed to leave a lasting impression. Your style, your word choice, your...everything...just amazing. Well done.

I am in tears.

This? Was flawless. I mean it, the best Merlin/Arthur fic I've read to date. Just incredible.

I couldn't breathe throughout this whole story. EPIC, I tell you.

<3 So. Much. Love!

This fandom has an insane amount of talent and the more I read, the more I continue to be humbled by other writers, but I'm still absolutely giddy that you think so highly of this story.
Thank you for your kind words!
I'm very glad you liked it. ♥
