- This week I have spent 3 hours a day on our elliptical, dyed my hair dark blue, reorganized all my dissertation stuff, and started reading A Hideous Monster of the Mind: American Race Theory in the Early Republic (which is awesome, by the way). I am so bored. And I can't tell anyone I'm bored, because they'll find tasks for me to accomplish.
- I got an A in my Race and Masculinities class. And my professor told me he's going to start using my example of the Jonas Brothers' purity rings as exemplifying complicit masculinity. So, yay, I have good ideas sometimes.
- Nick Jonas is dating a lady who's eight years older than he is. I don't know whether to be prouder of him for hitting that, or prouder of her for having an awesome quarter-life crisis. Mostly I'm just amused that apparently controlling, arrogant virgin = ladykiller.
- I've been looking at jewelry I will never own. There's
this Harry Winston ring, and Lang Antiques has a
plethora of
things I
can't afford.
- I am bored enough that I'm already starting on my qualifying exams list. Gramsci's Prison Notebooks, here I come.
