The whole base of this book was Katniss trying to keep Prim alive, thus setting this whole thing in motion, and now Collins took that away, essentially giving Katniss nothing else to live or fight for? How could she even think about this decision? It defeated the whole purpose of the plot. That was pretty much the last straw for me.Yep. That was my problem. Obviously I knew characters were going to die in this book, but I think that was the wrong decision. There was no possibility of even a mildly happy ending after Prim died. It completely destroyed the initial premise of the book ( ... )

You're right, it did sound as if Peeta was sort of pressuring her into doing something she didn't want to. And that is really awful once you think about it. Although I bet most of the fans are just all "Yay Katniss/Peeta! KIDS!!1!1!" it's actually wrong on so many levels if you look deeper.

Perhaps it would've worked better as a standalone book after all, especially considering how it got worse with each subsequent book. Collins did say at one point I think that the book wasn't originally intended to be a trilogy, so it was more like an afterthought after the end of the first book where she realized Katniss wouldn't get away with what she did (and I suppose, to an extent, the universe needed fixing). So maybe that's why they weren't as good, because they weren't planned ahead/meant to last that long.

And thanks! That's good to know because I've been uploading pics only to Tinypic for the past year or so. All my stuff are there. I'll let you know if I need any of them reuploaded :)

I've talked so much about the book and finally I came to a solid conclusion: I wish Prim died at the beginning of the book. I would love to see how Katniss tried to stay alive and still be the Mockingjay. Cruel maybe, but the last couple of chapters were my favourite (sans epilogue).

Why couldn't Gale have stayed too and Katniss chose Peeta for this reason? Is it because even the writer actually secretly felt that the reason wasn't enough to justify the choice eitherYes. Katniss was never in love with either of them. There was a never a love story in this book. At least not for me. Katniss was confused, scared, trying to keep people alive for their own good. Peeta was too good for him, she was too good for Gale etc ( ... )

I don't know if she would've been able to get over it if it happened in the beginning. Even without it, she was much too depressed for my liking, so I can't even imagine how much worse things would've been. :S

I don't think I'll ever reread this last book. I do however want to relive the excitement of the first book again and maybe pretend that's the only book in the series before everything seemed to spiral out of control.

Finnick and Annie is one of the couples (if not the only one) that I root for in this series, so that really annoyed me that he died.

I won't be suprised if at some point the whole internet only works in US.

LOL sad thing is I don't doubt this might come true at some point.
