Today was a fairy tale, you were the Prince, I used to be a damsel in distress

If you're thinking of watching Valentine's Day, wait until it's on DVD. It's definitely not worth watching in the big screen. Without going into too many details, I'd just like to say that it feels like one big disorganized mess. I couldn't feel attached to any of the characters at all, and I don't know why. All I can say is, I was expecting it to be as good as Love Actually, but it didn't even come close. I don't know what the magic of Love Actually is, but it's one of my favorite movies of all time and even though it has about a dozen different characters and half a dozen different storylines going on at once, somehow it managed to make me care about ALL of them in a way that Valentine's Day failed to. Even Jennifer Garner didn't manage to make me care, although the fact that her character is called Julia tickled my Alias side of the brain and I kind of liked seeing her with Patrick Dempsey (who's in it along with Eric Dane, making my Grey's Anatomy fan side giggle, but sadly they never interacted).

I don't know, everyone's just... not acting good enough? I don't know what's wrong but I felt disconnected the entire time. Also, everyone said they hated Taylor Swift's performance, but she was actually one of the few who really managed to make me laugh. And they tried adding the little kid's love story as well as they did in Love Actually, but that felt totally awkward and forced and... well, I really couldn't care less. Whereas the rather cliché scene in Love Actually when the kid ran through the airport to tell the girl he liked about his feelings actually made me tear up. All in all, it was a total flop, and such a waste of talent considering all the big stars involved. I guess they just depended on that and didn't bother making a good solid storyline. Creating interconnected plots containing that many people isn't easy, and I guess only certain movies could pull it off. Either way, I'm severely disappointed.

One good thing about it is I got to hear Taylor Swift's new single, which I love.
