It has been a long time. I am living in the apartment now. In the beginning I caught myself wandering between the bathroom and the closet only partially-clad. It takes a while to get used to the ability of others to see in your window. I also stare across into the window of the apartment across from our kitchen. Involuntarily, I swear. Perhaps it is their massive tv that lures my gaze into the vortex.
Not doing a whole lot (pathetically). I'm used to working/schooling my butt off, so unaccustomed to these long expanses of time with nothing to do. Many might welcome this, but more often than not it makes me stir-crazy. I tried to get a job but was told that "PART TIME" = 40 hours a week. f-ers. I've been considering other options but progress is hindered by my refusal to enter a job I know I will despise from the start. Haven't before and don't want to start.
I already feel like things I do are not noteworthy, because I honestly have a hard time thinking of things that are. Maybe to someone the things are worth mentioning, but I'm having difficulties filtering them out.
I've grown an interest in the world cup. Yes, really. Out of nowhere. It was on one day and I realized that I kind of like watching soccer/football/futbol. And probably something about the foreign appeal. No, I'm not going to learn all the stats and pretend I know what I'm talking about. Before any poser insults get thrown. I just happen to enjoy watching. Yesterday I went to virgin megastore to watch keane play an instore performance and watched the first half of the england/sweden match. It was exciting, a couple hundred people quietly fixated on the game, making alternating noises of anticipation and disappointment. The cheers when England scored their first goal. Even better, they showed a split second of the crowd in the store during the game. At halftime Keane came out, played three songs, and I went to work. They are one of 'our' artists, and have a new album.
The internship is fine. Friday mornings are my favorite. It's when we get a preview of what's new with the company and distribution. I see people really getting into the music, people who are interested in their jobs and enjoying what they do.
As always, looking for a balance and making plans. Always do, probably always will.
