Just a few random manga/anime things I've been thinking about that aren't Bleach related (though I do have Bleach thoughts, since I read translations of what's coming up, plus squee from this week's chapter...I'll just post them after I think about them more):
- For Christmas someone sent me volume 1 of Trinity Blood (I didn't get it until two weeks ago, though, because of several moves), which is among the series I've started and not gotten to finish. I really do love what I've read, and think Abel and Esther and Tres are awesome. I like the way Trinity Blood does vampires living among humans better than Vampire Knight (and I do actually like Vampire Knight...just not as much as Trinity Blood). BTW, the fact that I know have an Abel icon makes me extremely happy. ::nods::
- Other manga series I want to finish (all of which I started reading from my library, before I got to owing them $69)? The aforementioned Vampire Knight (been so long since I read it I forgot what I've read...will need to start over), Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (aka The Wallflower - another one where I'll need to start over, I think), Two Flowers For The Dragon (because the scanlations stop at the exact same place I did, but I need to see if there's more), Shugo Chara! (the last I saw, the kids and Ikuto were running up the stairs), The Gentleman's Alliance Cross (I think I got to the part where the main girl had made a decision about which twin she wanted, but I flipped through a volume at Barnes & Noble so I'm not sure) and...
- I need to see if there's scanlations of Zombie Loan anywhere. The last volume I read (10) ended on a cliffhanger
where Shito's body was taken over by the creepy old Chinese guy who wanted his mom, and they left Koyomi dead on the floor (though I didn't know she was dead until I got spoiled). There's three more volumes of the manga, and I should have thought to grab them when I had $60 to spend on Amazon. I = dumb for that move. But yeah, I want to see how the series ended.
- I had hoped this Friday I'd get to continue watching Brave 10, which I saw the first episode of and quite enjoyed. Alas, I have to move furniture. ::pout:: But the first episode is really good, even though I'm not a fan of historical set anime/manga (though I do have a soft spot for Ruroni Kenshin, what little I've gotten to see of it). There's a lot of snark and guys with attitude, which always makes me happy.
- I found the burned data discs I made of all the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex animes (1st GiG, 2nd GiG and Solid State Society), and am contemplating a rewatch as soon as I get done catching up on the TV show Once Upon A Time (I'm in a land community for that show, so I should probably be current, yes?). It's a pretty brilliant show, actually, and I prefer it to the movies because it explains the more complicated philosophies throughout a stretch of episodes and doesn't cram it in two hours. Which reminds me, I really want Batoou, Togusa and The Laughing Man icons...
- Okay, I lied, one tiny Bleach thought (but not on actual canon): my son got me the first volume of the omnibus edition for Christmas and I have to admit I actually enjoy the omnibus edition more than the individual books. I almost kind of wish other long running series I read would do that.
