Summary for Artists: This is the story of what should have happened to Morgana after she met Aithusa in 4.13. AS AIthusa healed her, he sent along memories that make an impression on Morgana. Continued contact with the little dragon changes Morgana’s outlook on life for the better. Meanwhile, back in Camelot, Merlin helps with Arthur and Gwen’s wedding before being called by Aithusa to meet with the changed Morgana. They grow closer and Merlin talks Arthur into letting her return to Camelot if she undergoes a trial, which she does. She then live in Camelot, serving the people to repay them for her crimes. Summary for Artists: (Modern Non-Magical AU) Merlin is perfectly content with his life. He's got his career as a nurse, his best friend and co-worker Gwen and his cat, Kilgharrah. Merlin may need to submit every once in awhile, but that doesn't mean he wants a relationship, and he certainly doesn't want to fall in love. Which is why his mostly non-sexual and completely casual arrangement with Domme Morgana works out so well. When Morgana is injured and unable to meet with Merlin, she suggests her brother Arthur, who's just returned to England and is looking for a play partner. Of course he's hotter than hell and practically perfect for Merlin in every way, but Merlin is sure they can keep things casual. Unfortunately (or fortunately, perhaps) Arthur doesn't agree.

Artwork: I hope to receive a piece of art from the story. I’m open to various types and mediums. Various possible mediums which resemble the official cast sound ideal to me. I’m open to discuss suggestions and to explain the appearance some original characters (flexibly).
Art Specifics: I’m fine with any parts of the stories from battles, intimate moments, to merthur moments. Explicit art is fine too. I would prefer if the look & feel stays close to the show, because that’s how I intend the story. Which means I would request no strange outfits, no anime or chibi style, and not making the characters feminine (in my view they are not), for example.
Summary for Artists: Canon AU. Stays close to original show from 2x09 onwards. The same events occur but in a mature setting. Some original events too. Arthur has slightly more brain cells.
In the warm autumn days in Camelot, Canon Merlin is able to shake off the loss of Freya at the Lake of Avalon, and Halig’s banishment. He finds some comfort from Arthur's reckless banter at the training grounds. In a drastic turn of events Merlin's magic is revealed. They face an unknown magical creature - a floating eyeball shooting magical beams at them - alone, at night, because only Merlin can see it. All trust between them needs to be built up from the start. Arthur decides he's been blind to Merlin's loyalty and sacrifice and for the first time he starts to really look.
A grand tournament is held in Arthur's honor and Merlin is bound to be manservant to visiting king Galorian. He is glued to the king's personal chambers and to the royal platform to witness the tournament battles. However, Galorian's personal staff seem to have strange outings at night, which raises suspicion. Arthur sees that Merlin is being grossly abused: Merlin is bruised and listless. Uther is unmoved by this, focused only on politics. Morgana and Gwen provide the additional clues, so that Arthur realizes that Galorian could remove Merlin from him forever. He knows he must face the king and protect Merlin - even if there are costs involved.
Once they get through this ordeal, they acknowledge their undeniable attraction to each other. Merlin decides it is too dangerous. Together they travel with a wagon to a nearby trading village to get supplies and discover a magical beast is threatening the place. The locals at the Inn clue them in on the event. They face the elk-shaped beast at night and discover the horrible truth behind its existence and bring the children home. With supplies restocked they return, just in time for the Five Kings to arrive at the turn of winter.
The Peace Treaties are no easy feat, especially with Lady Vivian's strange behavior and Arthur's sudden betrothal to her. Most events take place inside the castle, where just about everyone seems to be carrying around secrets. Alined is unpleasant, Trickler has brought his son Tybalt along. Olaf is a vicious man, not to underestimate. But the other kings, Rodor and Godwyn are pushing for their own agendas too, both during the official council meetings and during the feasts at night. Arthur, once freed from the love enchantment, begins to fully comprehend the dangers Merlin normally faces. They reconcile their differences and acknowledge their love to each other, understanding the dangers involved (so they think).
When a strange man calling himself Savaric arrives, offering Uther a way out of his troubled magical invasion, Arthur knows he has to step up. Morgana becomes a powerful force of diplomacy and begins to understand how visions work, to Merlin’s delight. Despite Gaius’ constant warnings, Merlin and Arthur secretly defy Uther and attempt the rescue of a sorcerer destined to burn at the pyre. For the first time, Arthur asks Merlin to kill someone and becomes witness to the assassination.
More will come including Lancelot’s arrival back at Camelot, the search for the Dragonlord Balinor and another arc at Avalon to round up the story.

Summary for Artists: Hogwarts AU - Merlin lives in a world of magic. But even in such a world where everyone uses magic, what Merlin has, what he could do... no one could know. And no one did, with the exception of his mother, of his best friend Will, of his Uncle Gaius and Aunt Alice. But when an chance accident threatens to push Merlin's secret into the open, he must to all that he can to avoid the travesty that could arise from his exposure. He must leave his home town, his quiet little village in Ireland, and attend a School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
It should have been exciting. It should have been an adventure, a start of something knew. And in many ways it was - Merlin made knew friends in the Hufflepuff girl Gwen, in Lancelot Dulac, the quiet boy with exceptional flying skills, in his Slytherin housemate Freya. He loved his classes, the intricacies of Charms in which he could practice his abnormal skills in wandless magic, his Potions experimenting with Alice, and Care of Magical Creatures with Professor Seward. The dungeons weren't even so bad for a common room, when one got used to them... Not really.
Except then there was Arthur Pendragon. Son of the Headmaster, Seeker of the Gryffindor quidditch team alongside his trio of housemates Elyan, Leon and Percival, Arthur took an instant dislike to Merlin and he couldn't fathom why. Was it just that he'd been sorted into Slytherin, or was it the off-handed confrontation in which he'd maybe, just a little bit, accidentally called him an ass? For whatever reason, it was Arthur who appeared to be the greatest trial for Merlin's schooling experience.
An alternate retelling of the first season - with potential for subsequent stories in the future - Merlin struggles through his transfer into third year at Hogwarts that is surprisingly riddled with more unexpected and unintentional acts of bravery on Merlin's part than he'd ever intended. From saving the school from the threat of Lady Helen, Professor Collins' carnivorous pet bird, ridding the kitchens of a potion that sickened all those who dined upon the tainted food and intercepting the unnecessarily aggressive threat of Gordon Valiant in his underhanded quidditch play, Merlin is nearly run off his feet. Nursing sick unicorns back to health from someone's stupidly cast curse, gift-wrapping ridiculously expensive brooms like the Excalibur as a parley present and taking after hours classes with the mysterious Professor Kilgharrah ensure that Merlin is not once kept idle. And then there is the foreboding threat of a vengeful Muggleborn out to seek justice…

Over the years, he has met each of the Avengers and caught the eye of SHIELD under the file name "Avalon". Sure. He agreed to help out with Fury's Avengers Initiative, but he never expected a day would happen when it would be called up. Until it does happen which kickstarts Melin's new destiny: superhero.

Summary for Artists: The city of Albion is in shambles, on the brink of destruction. Criminal organizations rule from the shadows, pulling strings even as the laws of the land become less hospitable for sorcerers. Forced into hiding or else treated as second class citizens, magic users have begun to turn, out of desperation, to the same criminal organizations that push to outlaw them for employment.
The most powerful of the organizations is Camelot. Ruled by Uther Pendragon, Camelot is an empire in its own right, with Arthur as its heir. Groomed all his life for the position, there is nothing that can get in the way of Arthur continuing his father’s legacy and creating the perfect Albion…
Well, nothing except for a certain bumbling idiot of a waiter.
Enter Merlin. Waiter, avid amateur baker, uni-dropout and secret sorcerer, just trying to pay his way through his mother’s ever growing medical bills. After a disastrous first meeting involving a ruined tie, coffee and a yelling match diffused only by Gaius’ gentle hand, the last thing Arthur thought he would do was come back to that strange little safe-haven of a diner for a round two. Only, there was something he couldn't put his finger on about the young man who was either too brave to back down from a Pendragon or too stupid to know his true identity.
Soon enough Arthur can’t resist, going back to that diner - “for the pie”, of course. And from there, really, the rest is history.
Or well, it would be, if only things were so simple.
Extra information that might be of interest: Besides for your general Armani-suit-wearing-gun-toting-Arthur and baking-inclined, bright-eyed waiter Merlin, there will be scenes including a spectacular row for a first meeting with tossed coffee and certain prats. There will also be some scenes involving foggy sunrises on the ocean, shared breadsticks in cramped Italian restaurants, rained-on picnics, carnivals, row-boat dates and dinners at home with morning-after pancakes, pillow fights and movie nights and late night Thai takeout runs - oh, and Uther walking in on a certain pair doing the dirty (with disastrous results). There will be underground magic fights, BAMF Merlin and Hunith in the hospital. There will be hold-ups and shoot outs and drug deals in crumbling warehouses, make-up sex and dredged up childhood memories and a couple absolutely spectacular drinking binges. There will be tears and romance and humor and an exceptionally heart-wrenching magic reveal. Oh, and of course near the end there will be some dead Merlin in Arthur’s arms action (and then some disoriented and very much back to life Merlin action - and not to mention the ensuing reunion)!

Summary for Artists: Arthur is nine years old when he first sees Merlin in his mirror. Deciding that the thought of having a new friend is more appealing than having to report the use of magic inside the citadel, Arthur finds himself saddled with an important secret - Merlin's existence. Despite Arthur's continued suspicions toward magic, they bond and become good friends. Then, one day, Arthur, along with a patrol of Knights, is sent to kill a monster that is terrorising Camelot. Unfortunately, magic can only be fought with magic. When Arthur's life is in danger, Merlin bursts out of the mirror in a surge of gold - something he has never been able to do before. With his existence no longer a secret, Merlin and Arthur must do whatever they can to keep anyone from learning about Merlin's powers, all the while trying to find out how Merlin ended up in the mirror in the first place.

Summary for Artists: Arthur is hopelessly in love with a very much taken Merlin. But when he shows up at Merlin's flat one night to find him beaten, bloody, and unresponsive at the hands of his boyfriend, he is sure the world is playing a cruel joke. The next two weeks he hardly leaves Merlin's side even when the man is locked deep in the throes of a coma. But once he wakes, Arthur is determined to show Merlin that there is still hope for him and still love in the world. Through the pain of his healing bones, the nightmares, the panic attacks, the fear, and a misunderstood suicide attempt, Arthur weathers, standing by Merlin's side, being there for him, comforting him, and picking him back up when he falls. Because he will be whatever Merlin needs him to be, even if that's just a hand to hold.

Summary for Artists: Lance and Arthur are half-brothers. Lance has had to take care of Arthur, who is mentally ill, for most of his adult life. He doesn't really have a life of his own and pretends that he's okay with that. When Arthur somehow "wins" Merlin in a poker game, all of their lives are turned upside down. Lance has to figure out if he can let go and let someone take care of his brother and if he even knows how to live his own life. Arthur finally finds someone who gets him and Merlin finally finds a purpose in life. Plot based off the movie Benny & Joon. A Modern!AU where magic exists. A love story between Merlin/Arthur. Also, a love story between the two brothers. A side plot about the developing relationship between Gwen and Lance.Leon, Gwaine, and Percival try to be supportive friends to Lance. Summary for Artists: Arthur is dead, but the Golden Age is only just beginning. Through chapters/vignettes from varying points of view, this fic follows Arthur, Merlin, Gwen, and the rest of the show's ensemble through the aftermath of Arthur's death and the return of magic. Arthur traverses a strange Tower in Avalon, encountering nine women from his past, while Gwen and Merlin make magic free in Camelot again and try to raise Gwen and Arthur's something-of-a-surprise daughter, Blasine. Sixty years of peace and prosperity pass, but eventually the spread of Christianity threatens the magical haven that Camelot has become. Merlin and Blasine, fearing for Arthur in Avalon, split Camelot and it's magic off from the rest of the world, tucking it away in its own safe and undisturbed dimension. This magic, of course, will have consequences; Merlin will be thrown backward in time to before Uther's reign, then forward again to live out his endless life in the nonmagical world. His magic tethers the two worlds together, but the separation takes its toll on both, and Arthur returns to the land of the living in, finally, this time of greatest need.

Summary for Artists: Reincarnation fic, modern era. Merlin has been living in a small house by the lake of Avalon waiting for Arthur’s return for over a thousand years. Suddenly a girl and starts following him around town, saying that she is looking for someone like him. When he finds out that her name is Freya, he thinks that she might be the reincarnation of the Lady of the Lake. However, the more he looks into her, the more he is convinced that this isn’t the case. After almost drowning to retrieve Excalibur from the lake, she tells him that she is actually the reincarnation of King Arthur. Together, they set out to find the rest of the court of Camelot so that they can rebuild the kingdom to fit into this new world. They open their new community to the magic users who have been living in hiding from the people who try to exploit them for their abilities. Unfortunately, trying to live peacefully as a community in New Camelot isn’t easy, as they come up against a new threat that understands the modern world far better than any of them. No matter how hard Merlin tries to stop it, this conflict will lead right back to Camlann.
There are a couple main locations: Merlin’s house by the lake, a small pub called The Princess and the Rogue, and an area that the characters build and call New Camelot.

Summary for Artists: When Arthur discovers the secret of his boyfriend, Merlin's, magic, he sends him away and to the enemy, Morgana's sympathetic ear. But Morgana wasn't looking for an alliance, and the mistake is a grave one, one that leaves Merlin bound to Morgana for five long years. When she instructs Merlin to kill Arthur, he is sure it will go as all her other demands have, so he doesn't expect his ex to catch him and set him free from Morgana's enchantment. Now making his own decisions, Merlin is determined to make up for the sins he committed under Morgana's control and if it gives him more facetime with Arthur so they can rebuild what they had, well all the better.

Summary for Artists: Modern AU. Magic exists in the current times, and those who possess it are supported by a system of government and education that works in sync with non-Magic User facilities.
Despite this, Arthur has been raised to consider magic an unnatural thing by his father. A skill possessed by those inherently wicked and something not to be trusted. When Uther switches gears, shifting from the courtroom to a political setting, Arthur starts to question his practices and propositions. And Arthur’s defence of magic, as slight as it is, eventually finds him disowned.
Cast out and with virtually nothing to his name, Arthur makes his own way with the support of Leon - his partner. Who shares his small apartment with Arthur, along with his clothes - and eventually finds himself employed by the distant and aloof Merlin Wyllt; a consultant for the Druid Network, who also does government funded research into Curses and who, for all his brilliance, can’t quite organise a bookshelf.
Aware of the weight of the Pendragon name, Arthur lies about who he is, keeping the secret of his identity close while he becomes intensely involved with all levels and distinctions of magic. From creatures such as gryphons and sidhes; to magic’s Druidic history and the interwoven legends; to the crystal caves and the inhabited forests which live and breathe everything that Uther is intent on smothering out.
He discovers firm friends in Elena, Lance, Gwen, and Gwaine; rekindles the relationship with Morgana, his sister, while maintaining truce of sorts with Morgana’s own half-sister, Morgause.
Arthur eventually learns how far magic is imbued in his own personal history, and how it ties into his father’s deep seated hatred for it.
And then there’s Merlin Wyllt, who, for all the bright colours that he wears, remains a mystery to Arthur despite their shared time in the cramped office at the end of Monmouth Lane. However much their relationship grows, the gathering power of Uther Pendragon and the heavy weight of who Arthur really is proves to be a heavy burden.

Summary for Artists:
In the Sword and the Stone, Merlin spells Arthur to convince him to leave Camelot. However in this case, the spell does not wear off after a few days. Kilgarrah warns Merlin that it could take months or years for Arthur to return to himself. Merlin figures out how to magically control Arthur to make it appear it is him, to win back Camelot from Morgana, and rule it. With Arthur’s influence and actions in his hands, Merlin can make the changes to Camelot that he wishes to see. Once Arthur returns to his mind, he is left to deal with the consequences of Merlin's actions, and the severe betrayal that he feels.

Summary for Artists: Modern AU with magic and a twist (the twist being that it’s also a reincarnation story), based on and inspired by the movie/book “Love, Rosie” by Cecelia Ahern. Merlin and Arthur have been best friends since Merlin’s 7th birthday, and have been inseparable ever since. When Merlin is 15, he realizes that he is gay and very much in love with Arthur. Years of pining follow, but Merlin doesn’t say a word about it until the day he can’t keep it secret anymore. A few days after his 18th birthday, he finally comes out to him and Arthur doesn’t exactly react badly, but he doesn’t react well either. He suggests that Merlin could sleep with a girl just to try and see, and Merlin is hurt and desperate, so he follows his advice. However, at the end of the day he is still gay, and Freya is pregnant, and his life becomes even more of a mess than it was before. In the years following, Merlin and Arthur struggle with being separated by the Atlantic ocean and their feelings for each other (which Merlin thinks are unrequited); Merlin struggles with his new role as a father, and somehow life goes on. Arthur gets together with Lancelot (and surprises Merlin in many ways by doing so), Merlin marries Gwaine, and there are still moments between them, but somehow life always seems to get in the way. They’re always best friends, but sometimes Merlin feels like they’re just not meant to be more than that. In the end it takes them 14 years, a year of radio silence, a crashed wedding, two divorces, a tragedy, and two kids to finally get their heads out of their backsides.
Freya is Merlin’s “other” best friend in this story, their daughter is a sweetheart who inherited her father’s special talent and Kilgharrah is his usual self, only that he is a cat living in the Emrys household (he also ships the hell out of Merthur).

Summary for Artists:
The fic is a slightly magic modern AU, mostly set in summer in south-west England - so some sun and plenty of rain. Merlin is a young-looking 20, Arthur is a beat-up 32.
When Merlin Emrys witnesses the murder of his best friend, his life suddenly changes completely. Not only is Will now gone, but Merlin and Hunith are given new identities and relocated under the Witness Protection Scheme to a sleepy town in rural Gloucestershire that wouldn’t have looked out of place in Pride and Prejudice.
Merlin soon finds his new life is far better than his old one, despite the fact that there is a psycho looking for him and Will's vengeful ghost visiting his dreams. He makes new friends, has a great place to live and a job in the local cafe, and he will be going to art college in the autumn. Oh, and don’t forget the blond god who lives in the flat downstairs - the one with all the drop-dead gorgeous friends who come and go at all hours.
It can’t last, of course, as Cenred and his cronies eventually track down Merlin, the lives of his mother and neighbour are in the balance. If only Merlin really did have magic…

Manips are okay especially since a key OC - the best friend of Mordred’s incarnation is based off the actor Andy Mientus (who plays Hartley Rathaway on “The Flash”). Using images of him (but not as Hartley as in my story, he doesn’t wear glasses…) would be great. And there’s an important scene at the shores of Avalon (where Merlin sent Arthur off to his final resting place) in the present day.
Summary for Artists: In the present day, Merlin lives in New York City. He knows that the person he needs to bring Arthur back is in New York. But bringing about Arthur’s return becomes complicated with an incarnation of Morgana all too ready to stop Merlin.
When the memory of losing Kara on Arthur’s orders isn’t enough, Morgana’s incarnation resorts to a sinister plan to insure Mordred’s incarnation kills the Once and Future King again.
Merlin can only pray that Ciaran, the current incarnation of Mordred and one he has raised since infancy, will not become a pawn in Morgana’s game.

And as if that weren’t enough, Arthur’s sister Morgana, a rogue agent, chooses now of all times to come out of the woodwork. It’s going to be a long mission.

He's heard stories, though, of a magical world that's on the other side of a wall, just outside of his village. When he crosses the wall on a dare from his friend, he discovers magical powers that he never knew he had, and also knocks a star from the sky. Back home, his mother tells him the story of how she met his father and powerful magic on the other side of the wall. Merlin sets out to find his father, but first he goes looking for the star, who he believes is a key to freeing his father from the bonds that keep him away from his mother. This star, rather than a lump of rock or some dust, comes in the form of a very good looking young man named Arthur, who is very displeased at being knocked from the sky. Together, they strike a deal and head out to find Merlin's father. At first there's a lot of tension and the two don't get on, but then mutual experiences, and a journey on a flying pirate ship bring the two closer and closer together until both Merlin and Arthur start to wonder if they can leave this world where they've found each other. (Stardust AU- borrows several ideas/plot concepts from the film but also takes liberties)

Summary for Artists: This is really the happy ending for the series that we never got. It leaves canon intact, and drops Merlin back in season one, 2000 years older, having lived through every physical age of his body a dozen times over. He tends to change his apparent age as his mood and the situation warrant. This means we have "season 1" Merlin, "old" Merlin, "ancient" Merlin and a Merlin with an apparent age of 30-40, bearded, pretty effing resplendent, wearing a full "Court Sorcerer" persona and a custom-built Pendragon staff.
He does a lot of spectacular magic with Arthur and Morgana at his side. He enlists Kilgharrah to create the Sword in the Stone in the middle of the Camelot courtyard.
The druids come. There are some hilarious byplays with the druids and Arthur, and much talk of the varied "rituals" that might be possible.
And there's a magical university completely lit by fairy lights, by which I mean floating magical gleam-balls, and not wired strings. There's a subterranean technomagical library and a magical orphanage.
The three furies show up. They're pretty nice, actually.
There's a headspace thing at one point involving every magic user in a 500 mile radius in an otherworldly ampitheater.
Merlin has a magical workshop.
And there's a lot of pretty Merthur moments, but not a lot of smut.

Whilst on a flight with his fellow dragonslord’s Merlin is shot down, injured and now back in his human form, Merlin is found by some knights in patrol, and taken to Gaius for care.
Stranded in Camelot Merlin has to hide not only his magic, but his heritage. Easy enough, until he finds himself falling for the slightly prattish King of Camelot, only for his secrets to be forced into the fore when Camelot is sieged.
Arthur struggles with this new revelation, eventually making the right choice, but he may have taken too long to do so.

Meanwhile, back in Camelot, Merlin helps with Arthur and Gwen’s wedding before being called by Aithusa to meet with the changed Morgana. They grow closer and Merlin talks Arthur into letting her return to Camelot if she undergoes a trial, which she does. She then live in Camelot, serving the people to repay them for her crimes. Which is why his mostly non-sexual and completely casual arrangement with Domme Morgana works out so well. Of course he's hotter than hell and practically perfect for Merlin in every way, but Merlin is sure they can keep things casual. Unfortunately (or fortunately, perhaps) Arthur doesn't agree.

Summary for Artists: Canon AU. Stays close to original show from 2x09 onwards. The same events occur but in a mature setting. Some original events too. Arthur has slightly more brain cells.
In the warm autumn days in Camelot, Canon Merlin is able to shake off the loss of Freya at the Lake of Avalon, and Halig’s banishment. He finds some comfort from Arthur's reckless banter at the training grounds. In a drastic turn of events Merlin's magic is revealed. They face an unknown magical creature - a floating eyeball shooting magical beams at them - alone, at night, because only Merlin can see it. All trust between them needs to be built up from the start. Arthur decides he's been blind to Merlin's loyalty and sacrifice and for the first time he starts to really look.
A grand tournament is held in Arthur's honor and Merlin is bound to be manservant to visiting king Galorian. He is glued to the king's personal chambers and to the royal platform to witness the tournament battles. However, Galorian's personal staff seem to have strange outings at night, which raises suspicion. Arthur sees that Merlin is being grossly abused: Merlin is bruised and listless. Uther is unmoved by this, focused only on politics. Morgana and Gwen provide the additional clues, so that Arthur realizes that Galorian could remove Merlin from him forever. He knows he must face the king and protect Merlin - even if there are costs involved.
Once they get through this ordeal, they acknowledge their undeniable attraction to each other. Merlin decides it is too dangerous. Together they travel with a wagon to a nearby trading village to get supplies and discover a magical beast is threatening the place. The locals at the Inn clue them in on the event. They face the elk-shaped beast at night and discover the horrible truth behind its existence and bring the children home. With supplies restocked they return, just in time for the Five Kings to arrive at the turn of winter.
The Peace Treaties are no easy feat, especially with Lady Vivian's strange behavior and Arthur's sudden betrothal to her. Most events take place inside the castle, where just about everyone seems to be carrying around secrets. Alined is unpleasant, Trickler has brought his son Tybalt along. Olaf is a vicious man, not to underestimate. But the other kings, Rodor and Godwyn are pushing for their own agendas too, both during the official council meetings and during the feasts at night. Arthur, once freed from the love enchantment, begins to fully comprehend the dangers Merlin normally faces. They reconcile their differences and acknowledge their love to each other, understanding the dangers involved (so they think).
When a strange man calling himself Savaric arrives, offering Uther a way out of his troubled magical invasion, Arthur knows he has to step up. Morgana becomes a powerful force of diplomacy and begins to understand how visions work, to Merlin’s delight. Despite Gaius’ constant warnings, Merlin and Arthur secretly defy Uther and attempt the rescue of a sorcerer destined to burn at the pyre. For the first time, Arthur asks Merlin to kill someone and becomes witness to the assassination.
More will come including Lancelot’s arrival back at Camelot, the search for the Dragonlord Balinor and another arc at Avalon to round up the story.

It should have been exciting. It should have been an adventure, a start of something knew. And in many ways it was - Merlin made knew friends in the Hufflepuff girl Gwen, in Lancelot Dulac, the quiet boy with exceptional flying skills, in his Slytherin housemate Freya. He loved his classes, the intricacies of Charms in which he could practice his abnormal skills in wandless magic, his Potions experimenting with Alice, and Care of Magical Creatures with Professor Seward. The dungeons weren't even so bad for a common room, when one got used to them... Not really.
Except then there was Arthur Pendragon. Son of the Headmaster, Seeker of the Gryffindor quidditch team alongside his trio of housemates Elyan, Leon and Percival, Arthur took an instant dislike to Merlin and he couldn't fathom why. Was it just that he'd been sorted into Slytherin, or was it the off-handed confrontation in which he'd maybe, just a little bit, accidentally called him an ass? For whatever reason, it was Arthur who appeared to be the greatest trial for Merlin's schooling experience.
An alternate retelling of the first season - with potential for subsequent stories in the future - Merlin struggles through his transfer into third year at Hogwarts that is surprisingly riddled with more unexpected and unintentional acts of bravery on Merlin's part than he'd ever intended. From saving the school from the threat of Lady Helen, Professor Collins' carnivorous pet bird, ridding the kitchens of a potion that sickened all those who dined upon the tainted food and intercepting the unnecessarily aggressive threat of Gordon Valiant in his underhanded quidditch play, Merlin is nearly run off his feet. Nursing sick unicorns back to health from someone's stupidly cast curse, gift-wrapping ridiculously expensive brooms like the Excalibur as a parley present and taking after hours classes with the mysterious Professor Kilgharrah ensure that Merlin is not once kept idle. And then there is the foreboding threat of a vengeful Muggleborn out to seek justice…

Well, nothing except for a certain bumbling idiot of a waiter.
Enter Merlin. Waiter, avid amateur baker, uni-dropout and secret sorcerer, just trying to pay his way through his mother’s ever growing medical bills. After a disastrous first meeting involving a ruined tie, coffee and a yelling match diffused only by Gaius’ gentle hand, the last thing Arthur thought he would do was come back to that strange little safe-haven of a diner for a round two. Only, there was something he couldn't put his finger on about the young man who was either too brave to back down from a Pendragon or too stupid to know his true identity.
Soon enough Arthur can’t resist, going back to that diner - “for the pie”, of course. And from there, really, the rest is history.
Or well, it would be, if only things were so simple.
Extra information that might be of interest: Besides for your general Armani-suit-wearing-gun-toting-Arthur and baking-inclined, bright-eyed waiter Merlin, there will be scenes including a spectacular row for a first meeting with tossed coffee and certain prats. There will also be some scenes involving foggy sunrises on the ocean, shared breadsticks in cramped Italian restaurants, rained-on picnics, carnivals, row-boat dates and dinners at home with morning-after pancakes, pillow fights and movie nights and late night Thai takeout runs - oh, and Uther walking in on a certain pair doing the dirty (with disastrous results). There will be underground magic fights, BAMF Merlin and Hunith in the hospital. There will be hold-ups and shoot outs and drug deals in crumbling warehouses, make-up sex and dredged up childhood memories and a couple absolutely spectacular drinking binges. There will be tears and romance and humor and an exceptionally heart-wrenching magic reveal. Oh, and of course near the end there will be some dead Merlin in Arthur’s arms action (and then some disoriented and very much back to life Merlin action - and not to mention the ensuing reunion)!

Summary for Artists: Reincarnation fic, modern era. Merlin has been living in a small house by the lake of Avalon waiting for Arthur’s return for over a thousand years. Suddenly a girl and starts following him around town, saying that she is looking for someone like him. When he finds out that her name is Freya, he thinks that she might be the reincarnation of the Lady of the Lake. However, the more he looks into her, the more he is convinced that this isn’t the case. After almost drowning to retrieve Excalibur from the lake, she tells him that she is actually the reincarnation of King Arthur. Together, they set out to find the rest of the court of Camelot so that they can rebuild the kingdom to fit into this new world. They open their new community to the magic users who have been living in hiding from the people who try to exploit them for their abilities. Summary for Artists: Modern AU. Magic exists in the current times, and those who possess it are supported by a system of government and education that works in sync with non-Magic User facilities.
Despite this, Arthur has been raised to consider magic an unnatural thing by his father. A skill possessed by those inherently wicked and something not to be trusted. When Uther switches gears, shifting from the courtroom to a political setting, Arthur starts to question his practices and propositions. And Arthur’s defence of magic, as slight as it is, eventually finds him disowned.
Cast out and with virtually nothing to his name, Arthur makes his own way with the support of Leon - his partner. Who shares his small apartment with Arthur, along with his clothes - and eventually finds himself employed by the distant and aloof Merlin Wyllt; a consultant for the Druid Network, who also does government funded research into Curses and who, for all his brilliance, can’t quite organise a bookshelf.
Aware of the weight of the Pendragon name, Arthur lies about who he is, keeping the secret of his identity close while he becomes intensely involved with all levels and distinctions of magic. From creatures such as gryphons and sidhes; to magic’s Druidic history and the interwoven legends; to the crystal caves and the inhabited forests which live and breathe everything that Uther is intent on smothering out.
He discovers firm friends in Elena, Lance, Gwen, and Gwaine; rekindles the relationship with Morgana, his sister, while maintaining truce of sorts with Morgana’s own half-sister, Morgause.
Arthur eventually learns how far magic is imbued in his own personal history, and how it ties into his father’s deep seated hatred for it.
And then there’s Merlin Wyllt, who, for all the bright colours that he wears, remains a mystery to Arthur despite their shared time in the cramped office at the end of Monmouth Lane. However much their relationship grows, the gathering power of Uther Pendragon and the heavy weight of who Arthur really is proves to be a heavy burden.

In the Sword and the Stone, Merlin spells Arthur to convince him to leave Camelot. However in this case, the spell does not wear off after a few days. Kilgarrah warns Merlin that it could take months or years for Arthur to return to himself. Merlin figures out how to magically control Arthur to make it appear it is him, to win back Camelot from Morgana, and rule it. With Arthur’s influence and actions in his hands, Merlin can make the changes to Camelot that he wishes to see. Once Arthur returns to his mind, he is left to deal with the consequences of Merlin's actions, and the severe betrayal that he feels.

So if someone could draw her, or bring her “to life” in any other way, I’d be over the moon. Kilgharrah is a talking cat in this story (an orange tabby to be precise) and the same goes for him. Other than that there are lots of nice Arthur/Merlin moments that I’d love to see.
Summary for Artists: Modern AU with magic and a twist (the twist being that it’s also a reincarnation story), based on and inspired by the movie/book “Love, Rosie” by Cecelia Ahern. Merlin and Arthur have been best friends since Merlin’s 7th birthday, and have been inseparable ever since. When Merlin is 15, he realizes that he is gay and very much in love with Arthur. Years of pining follow, but Merlin doesn’t say a word about it until the day he can’t keep it secret anymore. A few days after his 18th birthday, he finally comes out to him and Arthur doesn’t exactly react badly, but he doesn’t react well either. He suggests that Merlin could sleep with a girl just to try and see, and Merlin is hurt and desperate, so he follows his advice. However, at the end of the day he is still gay, and Freya is pregnant, and his life becomes even more of a mess than it was before. In the years following, Merlin and Arthur struggle with being separated by the Atlantic ocean and their feelings for each other (which Merlin thinks are unrequited); Merlin struggles with his new role as a father, and somehow life goes on. Arthur gets together with Lancelot (and surprises Merlin in many ways by doing so), Merlin marries Gwaine, and there are still moments between them, but somehow life always seems to get in the way. They’re always best friends, but sometimes Merlin feels like they’re just not meant to be more than that. In the end it takes them 14 years, a year of radio silence, a crashed wedding, two divorces, a tragedy, and two kids to finally get their heads out of their backsides.
Freya is Merlin’s “other” best friend in this story, their daughter is a sweetheart who inherited her father’s special talent and Kilgharrah is his usual self, only that he is a cat living in the Emrys household (he also ships the hell out of Merthur).

Summary for Artists:
The fic is a slightly magic modern AU, mostly set in summer in south-west England - so some sun and plenty of rain. Merlin is a young-looking 20, Arthur is a beat-up 32.
When Merlin Emrys witnesses the murder of his best friend, his life suddenly changes completely. Not only is Will now gone, but Merlin and Hunith are given new identities and relocated under the Witness Protection Scheme to a sleepy town in rural Gloucestershire that wouldn’t have looked out of place in Pride and Prejudice.
Merlin soon finds his new life is far better than his old one, despite the fact that there is a psycho looking for him and Will's vengeful ghost visiting his dreams. He makes new friends, has a great place to live and a job in the local cafe, and he will be going to art college in the autumn. Oh, and don’t forget the blond god who lives in the flat downstairs - the one with all the drop-dead gorgeous friends who come and go at all hours.
It can’t last, of course, as Cenred and his cronies eventually track down Merlin, the lives of his mother and neighbour are in the balance. If only Merlin really did have magic…

Hand-drawn and watercolor is okay. The story is set in New York City, so some skyscrapers in the art would be good. For a title banner maybe.
Manips are okay especially since a key OC - the best friend of Mordred’s incarnation is based off the actor Andy Mientus (who plays Hartley Rathaway on “The Flash”). Using images of him (but not as Hartley as in my story, he doesn’t wear glasses…) would be great. And there’s an important scene at the shores of Avalon (where Merlin sent Arthur off to his final resting place) in the present day.
Summary for Artists: In the present day, Merlin lives in New York City. He knows that the person he needs to bring Arthur back is in New York. But bringing about Arthur’s return becomes complicated with an incarnation of Morgana all too ready to stop Merlin.
When the memory of losing Kara on Arthur’s orders isn’t enough, Morgana’s incarnation resorts to a sinister plan to insure Mordred’s incarnation kills the Once and Future King again.
Merlin can only pray that Ciaran, the current incarnation of Mordred and one he has raised since infancy, will not become a pawn in Morgana’s game.

They’re stuck teaming up together with Gwen, a mechanic, to stop a ruthless arms dealer who has kidnapped Gwen’s father and plans to build a nuclear warhead. And as if that weren’t enough, Arthur’s sister Morgana, a rogue agent, chooses now of all times to come out of the woodwork. It’s going to be a long mission.
Possible visuals include: Men in suits (it’s a spy AU after all), guns, Roman architecture, cute 60s outfits/hair (this is a loose fusion with the movie The Man From U.N.C.L.E which has lots of cute clothes), cars, and one mouth-to-mouth scene because my self-control crumbled.

Summary for Artists: Merlin is an ordinary boy from an ordinary village, seemingly destined for nothing too great. He's heard stories, though, of a magical world that's on the other side of a wall, just outside of his village. When he crosses the wall on a dare from his friend, he discovers magical powers that he never knew he had, and also knocks a star from the sky. Back home, his mother tells him the story of how she met his father and powerful magic on the other side of the wall. Merlin sets out to find his father, but first he goes looking for the star, who he believes is a key to freeing his father from the bonds that keep him away from his mother. This star, rather than a lump of rock or some dust, comes in the form of a very good looking young man named Arthur, who is very displeased at being knocked from the sky. Together, they strike a deal and head out to find Merlin's father. At first there's a lot of tension and the two don't get on, but then mutual experiences, and a journey on a flying pirate ship bring the two closer and closer together until both Merlin and Arthur start to wonder if they can leave this world where they've found each other. (Stardust AU- borrows several ideas/plot concepts from the film but also takes liberties)

Warnings: The whole of the series stands as writ, but Merlin goes back, retaining those memories, and rewrites it. So the story itself is happy, but Merlin remembers all the shit, and that's kind of traumatic because death, doom and destruction.

Summary for Artists: This is really the happy ending for the series that we never got. It leaves canon intact, and drops Merlin back in season one, 2000 years older, having lived through every physical age of his body a dozen times over. He tends to change his apparent age as his mood and the situation warrant. This means we have "season 1" Merlin, "old" Merlin, "ancient" Merlin and a Merlin with an apparent age of 30-40, bearded, pretty effing resplendent, wearing a full "Court Sorcerer" persona and a custom-built Pendragon staff.
He does a lot of spectacular magic with Arthur and Morgana at his side. He enlists Kilgharrah to create the Sword in the Stone in the middle of the Camelot courtyard.
The druids come. There are some hilarious byplays with the druids and Arthur, and much talk of the varied "rituals" that might be possible.
And there's a magical university completely lit by fairy lights, by which I mean floating magical gleam-balls, and not wired strings. There's a subterranean technomagical library and a magical orphanage.
The three furies show up. They're pretty nice, actually.
There's a headspace thing at one point involving every magic user in a 500 mile radius in an otherworldly ampitheater.
Merlin has a magical workshop.
And there's a lot of pretty Merthur moments, but not a lot of smut.

Summary for Artists: Canon AU where dragonslord’s also have the power to transform into dragons.
Whilst on a flight with his fellow dragonslord’s Merlin is shot down, injured and now back in his human form, Merlin is found by some knights in patrol, and taken to Gaius for care.
Stranded in Camelot Merlin has to hide not only his magic, but his heritage. Easy enough, until he finds himself falling for the slightly prattish King of Camelot, only for his secrets to be forced into the fore when Camelot is sieged.
Arthur struggles with this new revelation, eventually making the right choice, but he may have taken too long to do so.
