Author's notes: Enormous thanks to Mya for being the best beta year after year, and to LFB for being the best art partner year after year! I’m so happy I got to work with you both again, thank you for still putting up with me after all this time!
Artist's notes: I was humbled and honoured when slantedknitting asked to collaborate this year. I love her work. She supplied me with her story months ago. I read it and was instantly smitten and full of enthusiasm and ideas. I bought some reference materials and fancy new paints with strong pigments as I had such clear images of what I could do. As is often the case, the content of my head was far superior to what I have produced. I intended to do more and the story deserved it but alas once again time and life ran away with me. It's been a difficult year and I have struggled but I love this fandom and all the wonderful artists and writers in it who I am lucky enough to share ideas with. Many thanks to the betas and the mods who make this wonderful fest possible

Summary: Merlin cannot remember Arthur’s face, no matter how hard he tries. It’s simply been too long, and the world has changed too much, and Merlin has changed, too.

He happens across a psychic who shows him a vision, and he can very nearly almost see Arthur’s face, but not quite. When the vision ends, Merlin thinks that’s as close as he’ll ever get. Then, while making lunch, he suddenly finds himself somewhere impossible, somewhere that doesn’t exist anymore, sometime that doesn’t exist anymore.

But that vision doesn’t last long, either. Until Merlin finds himself back in Camelot again. And again.
