soooo i got a new job. i will now be working for the tlc branch of the laguna beach boys & girls club. it goes from k-5 rather than 1-12 grade, which i like. the club is in in a small cottage like building in a really beautiful part of laguna. there's a really awesome park in a sort of valley below, surrounded by hills and huge trees and flowers. the best part is that it's full-time with better pay and i will have the same position i do at the club i currently work at. aannd most of my swim lessons are in laguna, so it will be a really convenient way to get in a lot more lessons before/after my shifts. i am going to have money for once!
i told the kids at my club that i'm leaving yesterday. one girl started crying and a bunch of others were pretty upset and asking me not to go. it's going to be incredibly hard to leave some of these kids that i've gotten to know so well over the past 2 1/4 school years, not to mention all the hard work i've put in at my club. i just have to remind myself that i did what i could for these kids while i was there, and that it's time to make sure that i'm making a decent living so that i don't have to tutor and babysit just to supplement my job. it's also time to get away from some of the staff that don't seem to really care about what they're doing.
i was about the write some of the fonder memories i've had at my job, but i started bawling, soooo...scratch that.

nader and i got new roommates. specifically, his business partner, his partner's girlfriend, and their 6-month old boy. and their cat. that's 4 adults, an infant, and 5 cats. seriously, what the fuck is wrong with us? i'm actually happier with the cat situation than i am with the human situation. crazy cat lady status. i don't even try to hide it anymore.
-----------------
went to the river with my family this past weekend. my brother got a kneeboard. he said it was really hard to use and that i probably wouldn't be able to get up on it. not only did i get up, but i was able to do 360s and even a 720. i've never been able to do something like that before my brother could, which felt pretty good. my dad was stoked. then my brother decided he would just stand up on the kneeboard and surf it since he couldn't pull a 360...the bastard.

nader's business is in full swing, which means he is now self employed. i'm nervous to be the only person working. so far, it's pulling in enough for him to pay his portion of rent, bills, etc. it's still scary though.

everything else i was going to say i've said 1,000 times before sooo nevermind.
