Investigation 5: For Charlie

Sep 05, 2011 23:27

[Sarah Jane is used to many odd things. Waking up in strange beds is not something she particularly cares to become accustomed to though.

She sets the flowers down, crawls out of bed and notices what she is wearing. Racy lingeries. Honestly.]

As if not being able to find a decent pair of women's trousers wasn't bad enough.

something's afoot, still no idea, trousers, something isn't right here

-Charlie, who should be used to odd things, wasn't used to the odd happenings that occurred in this town. At least not yet. First off, he wasn't used to waking up someplace he knew he hadn't fallen asleep at, and secondly... the man wasn't used to being dressed in something he wasn't wearing before his slumber.

Crawling out of bed, he turned when he heard a familiar voice. Upon seeing what she wearing though, he returned his attention straight ahead of him.

Awkward silence is awkward...-

[Okay. Someone has to say something. She can maintain composure. Really.]

Hello, Charlie. Do you have... any idea what's happening?

-He won't turn to look at her, and yet doesn't want to be thought of as rude... so he glances over his shoulder as he spoke.-

I guess that you can say we're in the same boat.

-Standing up, he decided to check the door. The door knob wiggled, but wouldn't open.-

... It's locked from outside?

It didn't feel like a transmat, and I've never heard of those changing anyone's clothing.

[Clothing. Yeah, this is a bit awkward.]

A transmat?

It's a technology used to move people from one place to another instantaneously. They don't have it on Earth in my time, but it exists off planet.

-He couldn't even think of a response upon hearing this. Instead, he calmly walked toward the window and tried that as well. It was also locked...-

... Do you have any suggestions about what we should do?

[Sarah Jane reaches reflexively for the pocket she doesn't have]

No sonic. Okay, we'll try this the old fashioned way. There has to be wire around here... or a hairpin.

-He calmly walked back over to the door and placed his hand upon it.-

Perhaps a good kick will get it to open...?

-Oh he would be in for a surprise if he decided upon this tactic.-

[Checking the flowers. Nope.]

If it's locked, a more subtle approach is probably wiser.

-He's kicked down doors before!-

You may be right, in this case.

... Have you found anything?

Fork might work, in a pinch.

I haven't mastered the art in picking locks... so I'll leave this to you.

I travelled with the Doctor. Escaping was right behind running when it came to basic skills.

[Sarah Jane guides the fork into the door and starts feeling for a catch]

Very strange lock though.

Strange? How so, if you don't mind my asking...?

Normally I'd be able to feel something in here. It's like it's not a physical seal.
