[Anyone wandering through the forest near the village might notice Yue in a nearby tree, with a journal in her lap. She's dressed up in the standard new feather garb, and it looks like she hasn't woken up just yet. Of course, that doesn't last terribly long

[And sometime after Sokka started talking with Yue, Katara picked up her journal and began paging through it-- and she does a double-take, gasping.]

Yue?

Katara! [Yue will refrain from asking what's going on, since Sokka already filled her in on that... although it's still fairly confusing.]

You were brought here, too? [Sokka had said they were all okay, but "we" could have referred to anyone who was currently in the Northern Water Tribe.]

[Oh wow. And she thought things were awkward when Jet was brought here.

Man.

Suki.

She really hopes Sokka manages to keep his foot out of his mouth.

Poor Yue.

Just... wow. Katara never thought she'd see you again, Yue.]

[ voice ]

[Katara's voice is gentle, but there's some joy in it too. Yue's had her admiration for her bravery and self-sacrifice since the North Pole, after all.]

There are a lot of us from our world here. There's - a lot to tell you. [Pause and she reviews what she can see of Sokka and Yue's conversation... ] What's the last thing you remember before you woke up here?

Sokka had just taken me to meet Appa. Why? [Wouldn't they all have come from the same time and place?]

[ voice ]

[Ah -- crap. That's...

Give Katara a moment to process this.]

Actually... that's part of the mess in this place. We're all from different times. Sokka is from so far that the war is over! And we won! [Best news ever, yes? Let's just give Yue something like that to hold onto for now.] I'm from a few months behind that, and so is Toph and Zuko.

[...she is so not going to mention Suki right now.] They're Aang's earthbending and firebending teachers.

[ voice ]

[Whoa, what? That... that's definitely a lot to take in. Very good to hear! But still a lot to process at once.]

The Fire Nation was defeated? [Part of her wants to ask if that were really true, but Katara would have no reason to lie. Besides that, Yue can't help but think about the kind of celebration her father would throw after hearing the news.]

...Is Aang here, too?

[...this is just never going to stop hurting, is it.]

No, Aang's not here. He was here a few times, but he never stayed for long. As suddenly as they bring you here, the Shifts can take a person back.

[ voice ]

And yes, we won the war. I'm sure Sokka will tell you all about it.

[Oh man, have they got a lot to talk about. But...]

I'll prepare a room for you in the house we're staying in. We still have one left. You're probably going to be tired... there's a lot to take in.

[ voice ]

I see. [That's a touch alarming, but as long as they're brought back home afterward, then maybe it's not so bad. Still, Yue can't quite understand why they would bring someone here over and over only to keep sending him back, especially if he's the Avatar.]

It's [Crazy.] a lot to think about, but I'll do my best to try and understand.

Don't mention it. You opened up your city to us once, the least we can do is welcome you into our home in a place like this.

[And she smiles.] You'll get it. It will be... a lot. [Especially for you.] But I know that you're strong enough to adapt here.

[We're Water Tribe, after all. And water adapts.]

[ voice ]

[Water always finds a way to adapt, no matter what the environment or situation.]

I think it will be easier for me to adapt with all of you here. [It'd certainly be easier than if she were to try and do this alone.]

It's better to be able to face difficult things with friends. You're not alone here.

[No matter if she might feel like it after Sokka gives her his news... Katara will do everything she can to reinforce it. Even if things aren't the same, they're still friends, and Yue's not alone.]

No, I'm not. [Which is something she's very grateful for.] Thank you, again. I'll do my best to help out however I can.

[And... okay, Yue doesn't know how she'd be able to help around their home. She's royalty - she's used to having people take care of her. Of course, that doesn't mean she couldn't try to be useful, right?]

[It is Katara's firm belief that once you're part of a family, a community, everyone pitches in until the work's done - it's better for the community and it makes you feel like you belong. So she will find something.] Don't worry, there's always plenty of work to do. And a lot of things are easier here than back home. They have machines that wash clothes and do dishes.
