Farewell from Susan Bones
Susan Bones developed her double identities through her last years at Hogwarts. She had a thriving jewelry business through several wizarding jewelry stores, and entered training in the Unspeakables division of the Ministry of Magic. She yearned for Neville... and Harry ... and Ernie ... and Justin... and even Draco, though she never admitted that yearning to anyone.
She worked on her double identity diligently for years until she began dating someone in her department. He was an older Hogwarts student. She had lost some of her family to the Dark Lord. He willingly gave his up in order to estrange himself from a family well-known to support the Order of the Phoenix, so that he could place himself as a tempting person to co-opt to the dark side. He was chillingly intelligent about the whole thing which impressed Susan no end. It was no wonder. He'd been Head Boy after all.
After the conflict was over and they were all free to return to a normal life, Susan chose not to. And so did he. She was quite happy as a spinster making jewelry, to the wizarding world, and as an Unspeakable Spook to the Ministry. There were always suspicious witches to spy on and naughty wizards to catch in the act. It was fulfilling and satisfying and in time, Susan even found it in her heart to forgive her Aunt for dying on her.
