I've got soul but I'm not a soldier.

It has been almost 3 years since I've made this journal friends-only, but not many people check this anymore so I don't care.

Life is constantly changing and one hardly ever realizes how much change has occured. A bit odd to think about but whatev.

I have about 7 weeks of high school left before I graduate. It's ridiculous when I stop and think about it. It's funny how when you were younger, you'd get excited thinking about high school and college, but now as your days are slowly being marked off the calendar... it's a whole different feeling. Of course there is excitement but fear comes as a side dish - y'know, the side dish you never meant to order.

People come and go in your life. You might not always like them but there are certain special people who can teach you things beyond the school subjects and you grow to hold these people in high regards. These people are amazing.

Oh well.

Earlier this evening, I saw the film Reign Over Me with Hunter. Adam Sandler plays a man who suffers from posttraumatic stress syndrome after losing his family and basically everything on 9/11. Don Cheadle, his old college roommate, decides to help Sandler while ignoring his own family problems. The film has an amazing soundtrack, including Pearl Jam's cover of the Who's Love Reign O'er Me.

Tomorrow I'm driving down to VCU for the block party. I'm going to get a lot of thinking done on the drive. Once I get to the campus, I'm going to soak in my future home.

I'm going to leave you with this quote...

"The world is full of obvious things which nobody try any chance to ever observe."
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
