After watching CNN...

I decided to send this email... These Republican bastards piss me off...

Dear Lou Dobbs, loudobbs@cnn.com

I think it is ridiculous that the Cheney family, along with the Republican party is up in arms over Kerry's brief mention of Vice President Candidate Dick Cheney's daughter. As a gay man myself, I find nothing offensive in the remark. All Kerry did was try to give America a face to put with the issue of homosexuality being a choice. The point was to make America see that this woman, who supports and loves her father, would do nothing to rebel against him or his political campaign. Therefore she would NOT purposely "choose" a lifestyle that conflicts with her father's political party. Therefore, homosexuality is NOT a choice.
Kerry used the example, because most Americans will not believe that, until the issue hits close to home. You can use the term "homosexual" all day and it have no meaning to someone who believes that homosexuality is wrong and is a choice. But when you say "your daughter, your son, your neighbor, your friend, this woman", America's feelings toward homosexuality can change. I'm sure Mr. Cheney may have shared the same beliefs about homosexuality being a choice, until he learned of his own daughter's lifestyle.... that changed his whole ideas and beliefs.
Cheney's daughter is open about her sexuality, so there was nothing "intrusive" about the comment. If only Cheney's daughter was a closeted homosexual, then Kerry's remark would have been "out of line", because he then would have been "outing" her sexuality to public, but that was not the case. She nor Mr. Cheney keep it a secret, and they shouldn't have to, but nonetheless, Kerry's comment was not "out of line".
If anyone should be offended, it should be the Gay community. We are "offended" that President Bush denies the love we have for a partner of the same sex, and will not even acknowledge a union between two consenting adults. That is out of line!

Ps. If I see Cheney's daughter at a gay club, I'll buy her a beer for all the "stress" and "grief" her family is going through over this comment. Oh brother!
