Vegetables, vegetables, and...vegetables. That has been my life the past few days. I have started on this weight loss challenge, and it hasn't been easy so far. I tried to see if I could go a few days without eating meat and other things that I like. The goal was to eat mostly fruit and vegetables for four days. The first two days was okay. Then yesterday, I broke down. I cringed at the sight of the vegetables in my refrigerator. Then I was angry at myself for clearing all of the meat out before I started. My roommate was in the same place. She was in her room talking about meat like a drug addict talks about their drug of choice. I made a compromise. We got some grilled chicken, green beans, and corn from KFC. That grilled chicken is so good! Also, it wasn't as bad as many other things that we could have eaten.
Today, I got back on track. Tomorrow, I will reintroduce meat into my life. I will make better choices about what type of meat I choose. I will continue to eat a lot of fruit and vegetables. I have also been making an effort to drink more water.
The other part of this is that I am working on being more active. I finally visited the gym at my apartment. It's okay. There is an elliptical, three treadmills, a bicycle, and a few weight machines. I definitely need to get there more often. It doesn't seem like it is used very much, so it will be semiprivate.
Next week, I need to kick the exercise up a notch. I am also going to make sure I put in some variety. I really do get bored easily, so I need to do that so that the routine doesn't ruin it for me. I also looked at the On Demand menu on Comcast. There are lots and lots of options on there. I plan to use that too.
