"By a cow-horse falling..."

I just got in from Vermont, and boy are my arms tired.

Tonight was our last concert of the year. We sang at this really nice retirement community in Bennington, VT (about 30miles down RT 7), then had a party at our directors house which is halfway between here and VT. It was actually fun, and an abbreviated version of Monday's concert/recording. I'm kinda glad choir is over for now, but at the same time will miss it. I can't wait till our cd's get here. Some how I seem to have slipped into the habbit of LJ updates after choir..

Well, one more day of work, and Saturday's my day off! I haven't had a Saturday totally free since December. Such a shame. I'm actually considering working anyway, but we'll see. Today was payday!!! I still have my last paycheck too, so I'm going to deposit them both (via snail mail) to my bank in MD.

I finally breathed new life into my hair last night by using my favourite "Luster's" brand hair texturizer. So the curls are back in town -- just when my natural afro was trying to make a grand entrance.

I really need a vacation. Anyone got any ideas? So far I'm thinking London, UK, or somewhere in Mexico.

P.S. The "By a cow-horse falling.." is from the song "Charlie Rutlage" which is a song about a cowboy who died by this obscure 20th century composer, Charles Ives. This semester our director chose that, along with 3 other of Ives' pieces to perform: "Old Home Day", "Son of a Gambolier", and "Circus Band". Poor Charlie Rutlage dies when his horse falls over while rounding up cattle over dangerous terrain somewhere out west.
