i am awfully terrified of aging in general, which i know is a sign of bad character, but i think that old ppl are definitely allowed to be cool after they are dead. so theres hope. just, after we're dead.

It may be a sign of bad character but I think that I think about it a lot. Maybe no more than other people. Maybe other people don't contemplate it at all because they just assume that aging will go well or they ignore it.

And When I'm dead, I don't know if I'll care if people will think I'm cool, which makes me think I shouldn't care now. And I don't care (really, I think...maybe not)

Have you ever seen the movie _Beautiful Girls_? In it, Natalie Portman plays a precocious 12 or 14 year old girl who has a crush on a much older guy. At one point, the guys says something to the effect of "you're much too young for me," and Portman responds by telling him she has an old soul. Of course I don't believe in reincarnation, but ever since I've seen that film, that's kind of how I've felt about myself. So, I guess I don't feel bad about getting old. I actually look forward to being a grizzly old theologian some day with thick glasses and hair growing out of my ears.
